Nice pics all through here! Thought I would post a soy latté i did, as not many people seem to have pics of soy ones. Its a bit harder to work with I guess too... This is with Bon Soy premium milk. Freepoured, off course!

Wow.... too good Ozi Cool

Is that your very own LM there peeking out from the corner? If it is you'll have to give us a pictorial expose of all its wondrous delights in the near future.... Not many LM owners around the traps here Wink

I have never tried soy milked lattes... It doesn't sound so pleasing to me.

I wish it was mine... nah its the bosses. Its the machine I make coffee on all the time though, as Barista/manager of Blueprint. Great machine... seriously nice having the two boilers. Will get some pics for you tomorrow mate. Smiley

They are normally fairly wierd, but with Bon Soy (a japanese Soy milk and damned expensive) they are actually quite nice. Quite an earthy taste to the milk which takes some acclimatisation, but good none the less. Although, one of my customers has a soy decay mocha with 1 equal to take away. I mean really, why bother?! Thats not coffee... Tongue

EDIT: fixed quote formatting for multiple quotes.

I work at Cafe Beelzebub in Smith st Fitzroy, had a better double rosetta on a soy today but no camera handy.

I should add that Nathan who started this thread has helped me with my art over the last year and that my sister's rosettas are better than mine on a good day, more defined and even.

I thought I'd add a post to the coffee art love that goes on here. I do apologise for the relatively crappy phone camera picture.

The cup is actually a tall mug that we use at work.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

I've been in Perth for most of this week and I haven't had internet access.

As for the coffee, I'm always roasting and blending different beans so it would be hard to pinpoint what coffee was used in each of the pictures. Most of my pours are fairly restricted.

I'd like to pour rosettas with fewer but larger ribbon like leaves. I just can't seem to pour the milk slowly enough  Undecided

you need to pour a little faster, with a slower hand action.

Started at a new job today, at a new cafe called "Verge Espresso" using Caffeine Espresso blends. Its at the Carwash at the end of milton rd. Anyway, first day on the LM and I have to say, I love the steam wand. This is a freepour design i've been trying to nail.

Welcome kaiis...... Smiley

Generally, we prefer that images are kept to a maximum size of 640x480 pixels (W x H).

If you are unsure about how to easily resize your images,
this link will hopefully assist Smiley.

Thanks,

To all of you who say "this is not great art", i wish i could have on days like your off days.

Cyril, it takes a lot of patience and practice...once you get the mechanics right, it becomes like second nature....like riding a bike. Latte art is something any self respecting barista can do without thinking twice about it....but that is only because we make hundreds of coffees per day, steaming litres upon litres of milk. Making coffee at home is different. You don't make 500 plus coffees a day....most people who make coffee at home probably don't even make 5 a day.

Here are some tips you should keep in mind:

1) have patience, it takes time
2) learn the mechanics, do a course if you need to learn the mechanics, watch youtube videos...the internet is a great source of latte art videos.
3) practice with every milk base coffee you make!

You'll be pouring rosettas with the best of em in no time.

Best of luck....David.
