Talk Coffee espresso machine blueprinting
Reply #2 - Apr 3rd, 2009, 5:29pm

Calibrate my machine

We have increased the range of e-61 machines on which we can do this work. Despite some machines being built to importers' personal requirements, we find there are often significant variations between machines and oversights such as pump pressures set to 12 bar, incorrectly set boiler pressure, massive cooling flushes or groups which run too cold.

Bottom line is that machine manufacturers simply assemble machines. Sometimes they're just not that into coffee....

We:
  • spend at least 2 hours working with your machine
  • can provide before and after Scace information for your machine
  • install custom restrictor sets as required to increase your steam pressure and minimise cooling flush where applicable
  • can service your machine at the same time if you wish

Our upgrade service is subject to inspection/discussion but an improvement in performance is possible with most e-61 brands.

If your machine spits fire and steam when you operate the group, we can generally make an improvement.

The cost? $200-$300 for most machines in good condition and free of scale (subject to inspection). We can service your machine at the same time.

You are welcome to contact me for further details.

    Chris

    Talk Coffee- Roaster central!

We are delighted to announce that Talk Coffee has been granted the Victorian and Tasmanian agencies for Has Garanti and Coffee-Tech roasters!

Our initial range includes 1 and 2kg tabletop Coffee-Tech and 2,5,10,15 and 30kg Has Garanti shop roasters fired by electricity, propane or natural gas (dependent on capacity) as well as destoners and DIP bag grinders.

So, be it a Gene cafe or a 30kg roaster we can help.

We also provide roaster training on Gene and Garanti for CS'ers wishing to learn how to brown some greens.

I have created a discussion thread at http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1245553677/0#0 for any questions.

    Financing your business purchase...

    goRent.goGrow.goOwn™ @ Talk Coffee & Cuppacoffee
Like Cuppacoffee, we are also vendors for GoGetta (a division of Silver Chef) and are now able to offer a cost effective way of renting or purchasing commercial equipment without the huge outlay.

Great benefits of the GoGetta Rental Solution include:
    • Low weekly rental repayments.
    • The chance to free up your valuable working capital within your business.
    • The ability to try before you buy.
    • Peace of mind from knowing you’re not stuck with equipment that isn’t perfect for your needs.
    • A 12 month agreement – don’t get locked into a long term lease. If you purchase equipment at any time during the first 12 months you'll receive a 75% rental rebate.
    • No directors’ guarantees, so you don’t have to put your house on the line!
    • Rental payments are 100% tax-deductible.
    • Renting is off ‘balance sheet’, meaning it doesn’t affect your capacity to borrow for future expansion.
    • The option to return equipment at the end of the 12 month agreement if no longer required.
    • The option to continue to rent after the initial 12 month period – and GoGetta will simply continue to reduce your purchase price.

If you have any questions, or would like a calculation of costs for any coffee related equipment you have in mind, just let me know via email or pm

Did you get what you paid for?

We recently wrote that we will soon be dropping the Rancilio Silvia from range.

    Why?
  • Because a prominent importer sells them at little over wholesale cost and we need to sell at cost to match their offer. Their aim? Seemingly to drive all competition out of business by offering unsustainable prices until they have everything for themselves.

Last week, I met with a CS'er who had purchased a Minore III from them. He received a discount and was "given" a free grinder and a whole heap of stale import coffee and junk accessories...He was unhappy with his machine and could not get any resolution.

As a favour, we looked at it and found that the machine was set to 12.5 bar- amongst other issues. We know for a fact that the business concerned states all machines are bench tested and that they service and repair. They don't. They simply move boxes and refer repairs to other businesses.

When you buy, make sure that you get what you pay for. Ask them to prove what they do- preferably by watching the bench test, as what you are told happens seems not to happen in my experience.

New to range @ Talk Coffee....

We're  pretty excited as a new machine is on its way. I have just ordered the first 1 group PID Izzo Nuova Pompeii Lever machine (all 60kg of it Shocked) to come to Australia... ETA in 3-4 weeks!  Cool

    New stuff:
We have added some new gear:

    The world's best tamping station?
Tamping Station Exclusive by Concept Art

This brushed stainless steel tamp station oozes quality and was developed by Concept Art together with the Barista Axel Jahraus from Munich. Perfectly designed for tamping and keeping your tamper dry. Rubber feet keep the unit from sliding and the portafilter holder is also rubber for stable tamping.

    Dimensions: W x L x H: 12.5 x 17.5 x 7.5 cm and it's really heavy!
    ...

Gorgeous new knock boxes by Concept Art
Small knock boxes are often nasty. Not this one!

For fast and easy disposal of coffee pucks, this knock box is a useful and practical accessory for the home barista. In order to allow for easy handling and cleaning, Concept Art specified a plastic insert cartridge made of PVC material. The insert cartridge is heat-resistant, can also be cleaned in a dishwasher and it is very easy to dismantle.
    ......

Check out our monthly specials also ^^^^^^ in our sponsor area.

    Have a great weekend all!

Unlike some other outlets, we know our machines. We don't sell inferior machines just because the margins are good, because others sell them, or because they look ok. If it's on range, it works well and is not a dumb machine.

We service every machine we sell and we reckon our service is second to none!

Check out our CS member special offers webpage. Access to members with >10 posts or call for a password. Alternately, browse away here in our sponsor area ^^^^^^ for all the good goss.
