some of my other efforts over the past week as per below...
Some more did someone say???
OK... one more...
Awesome! I feel an Ode coming on in tribute, except Id face an Ode-ous escalation from Java “He of many sobriquets” Phile, and my brain still hasn’t recovered from the last one.
I had a laugh That was fun! Its been decades since I went on a spree like that! ;DOriginally Posted by grendel link=1136768349/45#55 date=1160229884

Ya - me also, 13 years by my reckoning. Oddly enough the last session was also with a citizen of the United States - it went for three hours, but degraded over that time under the influence of vodka into rolling puns. It was Russia, it was cold and there was nothing to do but drink and talk.
You say that like being punny is a bad thing! Any sentence is a good time to have some pun! Ive often been accused of making pun of everything. And ya know what? Theyre right! I find puns to be utterly mooving! Not to mention punny! ::) ;D 8-)Originally Posted by grendel link=1136768349/45#57 date=1160233263
And yes, some have put forth the opinion that even with all the beans I have, my hoppers not full! :D ;D :o

as any good coffee snob would know...
Its not the quantity of beans in the hopper but the quality which matters ;)
(well unless the hopper is totally empty :D ;D)
This is my latte art for today thought it was pretty cool so i took a picture of it:)
foam a bit course because i couldnt find camera >:(
Looks good mate...
Full marks there CK [smiley=thumbsup.gif],
A lot better than I can manage :-[ I can assure you,
Ive gone back to the drawing board.

Me too. The harder I try the worse I get!
It is all about practice and quality microfoam...
This is the story of that cup
For that one i was planning on doing a normal single rosetta, so when i started pouring i wasnt shaking enough so it was really skinny, i thought why *not try a triple since there is room on both sides so i tried... i pulled the middle one and started pouring the one on the left after that i tried to pour another on the right but ended up with not enough foam :( just came out as a blob. I got my themometer out and started drawing :)
oh and thanks for comments :)

There is soo much truth in that statement Belinda! I find that when I dont try too hard and just let it pour, I can get some art happening but when I try to do it, it just doesnt happen at all! Someone said here somewhere that latte art should practically pour itself. Theres a whole lot of truth to that statement too. ;)
great pics everyone i have to post some ive collected over time... :D
Ok, here goes.
Not bad for a roaster, sorry about phone camera quality.
Whoops, last one was a bit big.
and just a cool stove stop shop, bit out of focus
Doubles?! Thats pretty damned good, but Im surprised that Luke lets you near his steam wand ;P Or is he out of the picture at the airport branch?Originally Posted by Pioneer Roaster link=1136768349/60#69 date=1162265320
Personally, I like the single the best. They always seem to come out the nicest.
Hhhmmm....I should post some pics of some of the more interesting moka type brewers I have. One of my favorites is an old 4-spout unit with a built-in alcohol burner. Ive never used it but it sure looks neat! ;DOriginally Posted by Pioneer Roaster link=1136768349/60#72 date=1162265685
Java "Collector of just about anything" phile
Luca, Ive sent Luke on a Zen type journey. To master his skill he must suffer by using aged, dying espresso machines, take-away cups, and airport customers (no patience). Only once he does this can he truly appreciate my Reneka and learn not to abuse it.
But what can I say, if you work around somebody that serves triple and quad rosettas on a regular basis you learn to lift your game to avoid embarrasment. Although still unwilling to degrade myself to etching :p
Heres my latest efforts:
Looks great, and I can almost smell that fantastic aroma ;D. Is that a fine dusting of choc powder I detect there Mearesy ;)
Sure is Mal ;-)
Today i got a chocolate shaker with mesh, so i decided to sprinkle some on top and seems like it has a better contrast
It sorta isnt symetrical but like the contrast :)
I found these pics online today.
The first one is supposedly a NZ fern. *;)
The second one has me bamboozled; it looks like its a 3D rosetta! *:o
The second pic i have had experience doing those... all you need if thick foam and doe the roseta at the very end so it stands out:)
So you "cut" the rosetta into the foam with the rosetta pour?
Well, its just like pouring foam and the milk is all gone so it doesnt pull down the foam with the milk so the foam is light and fluffy so it stands out. If that is what you mean? :-?
No, the opposite, but I get it.
I might try it on the next capp someone wants.
I feel like a capp Thundergod...can you pour me a virtual one?
Heres one using zebra milk.
woo hoo...though hope it doesnt taste like zebra milk!
What does zebra milk taste like?
Certainly lower in volume anyway ;)Originally Posted by Dennis link=1136768349/75#89 date=1173404534
Sorry - no pics posted here yet, but an update on my plight for a rosetta...
My Giotto is now 3 weeks old (thanks Chris) and Ive discovered that if her steam apparatus is not handled correctly, she behaves just like a baby - howling and spewing milk everywhere. I was beginning o think that her "great set of lungs" might be too much for me to master.
Thanks to one of Greg Ps comments, I now start of gently and softly before doing the full immersion and speeding things up - have finally got the texture right...its wonderful...now all I have to do is get the wiggle right and woo hoo...ehh, hmm, sounds like Im describing sex.
Excuse me while I go back to my machine.....!
Cant find the thread, but when Andy made a comment something like "...looks like you ran out of cup", it got me thinking...
thats exactly what happens to me...
maybe the cups Im using are just too small...
you know whats coming.....
...the cup looks low because its actually a bowl

Hey, as i have NO latte art skill and couldnt find it on the net , i decided to present a challenge to my fellow CSs - to pour a double rosetta with a heart.
What i am imagining is two rounded rosettas up the sides meeting at the top with a heart in the middle of the cup.
Sound complicated? Well its worth MAJOR kudos to whomever can post a pic of it.
Ill accept that challenge:)
Alright heres an attempt of it... The volume is the same as a normal cup, its only has a wider surface but shorter.
Nice work, Coffee Kid :)
Youre "The Man" CK 8-)
