Good Ol trusty San Marino.
Some Tanzanian Tanganyika from Wine of the Bean, (sadly closing tomorrow).
Yes its a single basket.
Not in the right order.
This is more like it
Where were they located? which state...
Love the pics
Some more Tanzanian.
Hey Cyril...great images...
Would you be prepared to share how you captured them? (other than just with a camera! ;D) We could start a new thread on photography basics for coffee...Id be a keen participant at least...and judging by others here, thered be a bit of a discussion...
Ive even got a name for the thread...
God Shots...or How to take the perfect picture... ;D
I think Sanch would be good for leading that, i wish i could take pics like that.
Im just using my girlfriend Michelles little canon digital 8mp camera, nothing fancy.
(Shes complained actually cos ive got tiny coffee splatters on the lens from taking close ups of the naked pf before i had my tamp and dose dialled in).
I have it on the macro setting and basically get as close as it will focus and keep shooting as fast as it will re-load. Oh, and with the flash turned on for clarity and definition.
So really nothing tricky. Have a go. Id really like to have a go with an SLR to try and get some shots like Sanchs. They look so damn good.
Well...finally had a go at this...not as easy as it looks!
Great photos Scoota - and a lovely looking pour too! 8-)
Yum yum yum. Great stuff SG. Love those bodum glasses too. What are they called please so i can track some down.
love every pic...nearly licking the screen
Found out theyre called Bodum Pavina. Anyone know if any of the site sponsors sell them (the shot size)?
Top shots Scoots, in every respect.... 8-)
I picked mine up from Victorias Basement in Alexandria. They came as a boxed pair! I dont know if any of the sponsors here sell them.Originally Posted by cyrilgoldenrock link=1197068084/60#77 date=1217766689
Thanks for the compliments guys!
I have seen them at the Catering Shop next to the South Melbourne Markets. Cannot remember the name of the place. They are not cheap!
They seem to go on sale at the larger department stores faily often. 30% is the usual discount on them at the right times. Also, the Bodum store in Sydney, seems to also have them on sale fairly often.
Thanks guys. Ill keep my eyes peeled.
Habitat for the Tasmanian users stock these :) I picked up two for $18 I think give or take. They come in quite the range with many other sizes available alsoOriginally Posted by cyrilgoldenrock link=1197068084/60#77 date=1217766689
I broke mine within a few weeks. Dropped them into the sink at a height of probably 10centimetres.
Ridiculously fragile and overpriced IMO.
I had a go at this tonight.
Its not bloody easy is it?
Full sized pic can be seen @
Nice shot Brett - in the full-size pic those droplets look like glass beads! 8-)
No, youre quite right! Its not!Originally Posted by fatboy link=1197068084/80#85 date=1217851330
I had a go with some at work...
My boss got excited after seeing a naked portafiller at another coffee shop that I recommended them to visit, so he came home and chopped the bottom out of our single spout one...(as you do!) Now I get to see just how good I really think I am! :D
And one that Ive taken for a business card for work...
These might look great but I can tell you that there were hundreds of rejects! :o
Im really getting into this Pour Art stuff...much more fun than just taking pictures of latte art! ;)
I tell you what Scoots; if I ever get the urge to convert one of my PFs into a naked job, I wont be sending it down to your boss to do it for me.... ;) ;D
Definitely a bushy conversion, that one ::)
Shot looks great though and that business card photo is terrific 8-),
But why ever not Mal!?...;D ;)
Yes...I should have said about that first photo...
"Now if you could just look past the jagged edge that is the mess of the newly created naked portafiller...." ;D
WHOA! When you say, "chopped" out the bottom of the PF -..... like with an axe? Hammer and chisel? Thats BRUTAAAL! hahahaha
Nice pour by the way ;)
I just saw the 2oz Pavinas for $13.95 (for 2) and the larger 9oz for $17.95 (for 2) at Victorias basement on sale.Originally Posted by scoota gal link=1197068084/60#79 date=1217799296

heres a pour from my old carezza. (i may have posted this aaages ago so apols if i have)
i miss naked pfs
Great to see this thread still going with AWESOME photos! Yum. Sorry I didnt post earlier as I moved back to Sydney (Yay) and then had troubles getting the internet connected (not yay; took 7 weeks!), and then was too busy for a while.
Cyrilgoldenrock you mentioned you wanted to have a play with an SLR; if you wanna play with my camera and macro lens let me know. Maybe we can have a coffeesnobs coffee photo day if anyones interested? Im pretty new to SLR photography so dont have much gear but am always keen to improvise! Although the actual process of setting up and taking the photos did get pretty boring and repetitive after a while.
...and now im tempted not to go to hospital today but play with coffee photography...hmm!!!
Hey scoota, just noticed your pic of the belaroma pour - great shot! Maybe theyd be interested in the pic...can pass it on to them if you like. ;)
Or trade for a years supply of Green or Roasted beans [smiley=evil.gif]Originally Posted by Dennis link=1197068084/80#97 date=1222140040
Thanks Dennis. We didnt end up using that shot on our coffee cards. Instead we used the one of the pour into the two shot glasses that I took at home. The card looks fantastic and customers are very impressed with it.
Yes, I love the size of the droplet in that picture too. Looks awesome.
Ill have a think about sending it to Belaroma...;)
