That is a fantastic tulip coffeecartel.
Unfortunately, I am nowhere near that standard yet and am still working on my rosettas. So tulips totally impress me.

I like your red cup & saucer too. Do you know where Id be able to find a couple of those? :)

    Good try Anu,
Tried to come up with a name to that, perhaps "Hearty Rosetta". Looks like a rosetta in a heart. :)

    Re: Tulip

heres my tulip for entry. my better ones actually. usually theyre pretty" bad :) been losing my touch with the rosetta so down to what i find is the hardest latte art for me to do.

heres my way of doing mine: i started out with a pushing in and faster pour towards in the middle, a little wiggle like a rosetta. then stopped. starts to push in to the middle. stop and did the last top of the tulip and pulled through to the bottom.

hard to explain in words sorry :)

    Re: Tulip

I have also been practicing tulips, they are alot harder for me to do than rosettas. But it is just a matter of practice, I have done thousands of rosettas but only just recently been working on the tulip pattern. It is only a matter of time and practice and I will get it.This one I have just missed getting the heart on top, little bit off....They are harder to pour than the rosetta because you are not stopping and starting with a rosetta where as with the tulip you are placing each blob then stop and then the next etc.....and all the while the crema is firming which makes it harder to do,then before you know it the cup is full[img][/img]

    Re: Tulip

Thanks Gary. I helped another girl at our cafe with her latte art and now she can sometimes pull off better art than me.

I still have a long way to go and for every nice looking photo there are a few average arts out there that I dont photograph :P

All the coffees I post up here are from my home machine though, I like the steam wand on my Evoluzione much better than the ones on the Wega at work.

    Re: Tulip

The ones i submit are from home too.

At least you got a Wega. I have to put up with "brown Bertha", an ageing San Marino of dubious age. :P

So, the ones i do at home are better too, even on the EM6910.

    Elephant

This is a great place to admire other peoples efforts without harsh judgements,* and contribute your own little pieces of artwork while practicing tecnniques. Here are my second attempt at an elephant to see how they would turn out. Cant have been too bad, it was identified as an elephant by other people! :D.* Ive got the hearts and rosettas worked out, my next ambition is to tackle a tulip!!!
