Question Help with a new (cheapish) machine

After 12 long years, my (slightly modded) saeco via venezia has bitten the dust. The boiler is gone and I suppose repair could be on the cards but thinking it might be time to get a new machine - but I need help! It's been forever and a day since I've looked at espresso machines and the budget is somewhat limited - wanting to pick something up for around the $500 mark, possibly a little more if I need to. Should I be considering the breville duo temp pro or infuser models? Or look into picking up something else perhaps second hand? Times are dire! I have a decent grinder and don't want a super cheap machine with those pesky pressurised baskets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
