Finally a dual boiler + PID: EMC Synchronika

    Yes,

My first post, and what I way to start!

I will be taking delivery of a shiny new Synchronika early next month

Finally found a great supplier, and from the West here in Sydney...I guess cannot plug him as is not a site sponsor...

I had a Bezzera Mitica for two years, great machine I hope it finds a new loving owner (traded in).

I will upload pictures as soon as I can.

BTW: great forum, real good people, and also most sponsor are great

Congratulations, Synchronika looks an awesome machine!

Any particular reason for upgrading from the Mitica? I'm considering a Mitica myself but not too much user reviews.

The Mitica is a great machine, reasons for the upgrade are a few.
Really want to take my coffee making to the next level...PID will give me that, dual boiler will help also...
I was considering the new PID Mitica available already in other markets, but the response concerning its availability in Aus. from the Importer made up my mind to move away from Bezzera

Well done for the Pro 700: in my opinion, it is almost as good as the Synchronika ...Understandably its few hundred dollars cheaper price tag will influence some: better not at all mate...
Also, the remark of smart people not buying Mitica is not really ok...btw both our machines are Italian made

Mitica isn't in the same league. Do yourself a favour and avoid. I'm guessing there aren't reviews because smart people don't buy them
    JT
You are right JT, the Mittica isn't in the same league as the synchronika and Pro 700. It's an hx machine not a dual boiler, and also about $1000 less. Apples and oranges....
What most of the public don't know and reflected here with incorrect comments is the relationship between Bezzera and ECM and then ECM and Profitec.
It's another thread but as someone that does know the relationship it needs to be pointed out when incorrect information is posted.

Missing the point here.... The Mitica, at its price point is a great machine
My reason to upgrade is that I am in a position to do so...
Most people buying hx machines should look at their option: the Mitica is one valid choice... the only anomaly is saying smart people don't buy them... of corset the discussion about it should be in anther area of the forum.
Pro 700 and the Synchronika are great machines, both similar...choosing one over the other has little to do with intellect, but all to do with budget and preferences, and here should end
Let's go back to our passion: great coffee!

    Great comments, really appreciate them!

Again, let me share with all why people buy it, from a person that bought it and used a Mitica for two and half years: great machine...When you know what to do with it...

Once I work out how to post pics the right side up (they show upside down from me,not sure why!), I'll show what it produces; got it till next Saturday

Pairing it with the Quamar 50E really improved the shots, I had it with a Mini Mazzer, good, but not as "friendly" and practical as the Quamar...It does show in the cup and, most of all, on the taste buds!

Thanks all for your comments. I was just interested in gez's user experience of the Mitica and it sounds like it was very good. The Synchronika is a massive upgrade with so many more features, I'm sure you will love it!! Enjoy gez!

Thank you JS7, my first machine was a "Baby Gaggia", second a Classic Gaggia, then a Bezzera ZB99, upgraded to the Mitica and finally the ECM (next week)..It took around the best part of 20 + years to get there!

I will post more details, comments and pics of the Mitica in the right place: Brewing Equipment - Pointy End ($1500-$3000)

    Gez,
    My comments were with you.
The Mittica is a top end HX machine and should be considered by anyone looking for a rotary HX. I consider the Bezzera build quality as good as any.
In the dual boiler territory it's the ECM or Profitec that are line ball.
It's an interesting decision given that both ECM and Profitec are owned by same person .

    Ok...
Right: that is what it is, the Mitica is as good as any machines in that hx, top range market, hence no wrong info there...

That discussion (Profitec 700 vs Synchronika) is not something I am in a position to really comment.
Like many, did my researches, looked at the specs and then made the call, I am sure either model will be great! But, the ECM was my call...
Just to have the two "toys" side by side...

Not only the looks, it is useful also: the pf fits in really good, the box keeps the lot straight for the tamp

Click the image to display it in the image viewer then click it again and it should display in the browser right way up (it did for me anyway). use the back button or backspace to return to the forum

Yeah, buying in package with grinder and machine is probably the only way I'd find myself buying ECM accessories! (Except for a bottomless portafilter)

*squints* Ohhhhhhh, I see now that it's the pf holder/tamping station - very nice!

I use a naked portafilter so use a coffeeparts corner tamping mat, but it would make a nice home for the tamper. 🤔
