    Moka pot problem

    Just tried out my new(to me)old moka pot and couldn't get it to finish brewing,only about a third of the water came through.when test boiling it without coffee grounds it boiled normally.any ideas are welcome.thanks

    Hi there,
    Does the seal/gasket look ok? ie; was it hissing/leaking from the sides?
    Was the coffee ground too fine perhaps?

    I'm no expert, but I would expect that you need to test it with coffee, otherwise you're just boiling a jug with a small opening to let out the steam & whatever water can get up the tube.

    I used the same coffee as in my smaller pot,it might be too fine,I can't find a problem with the filter screen,I'll try some folders .thanks for the input
