    Guess what the Postie brung??

    Received a huge surprise yesterday...

Heard some commotion at the front door after the doorbell rung, after which my lovely wife exclaimed - "Have you bought some more coffee equipment?" To which I replied "No dear. What on earth are you talking about?". So, in she comes carrying this huge cardboard carton, without too much difficulty and plonks it on the kitchen bench.

Turns out it was sent from CoffeeSnobs???
Opened the carton up and lo and behold, inside was a brand new Brazen Plus coffee brewer. Basically I was dumbstruck and then had to convince Di (my lovely lady) that I most definitely didn't buy it myself. A quick email message to our CS Site owner confirmed that indeed, Andy himself had sent the Brazen Plus brewer to me as a gift. After reading in another thread, that I am having to give up using our espresso machine due to difficulties with my using it, Andy couldn't stand the idea of my having to go without the means of making great coffee.

All I can say is "Thanks mate. Your generosity once again blows us away and we are very, very thankful indeed."
Naturally, I had to give the Brazen a workout first thing today . Very easy to set up and get working. Estimated a very approximate filter grind setting (will probably need to tweak that over the next couple of days), filled the basket up with the recommended amount of coffee and then hit "Start". In a very short time, we could smell the lovely aroma of brewing coffee as the Brazen went through its paces. After completion and three loud beeps from the Brazen to indicate the coffee was ready, had to sample it straight away. The resulting brew was simply beautiful. Rich, loads of body and very sweet and impossible to stop at one cup. This is truly the awesome coffee brewer that owners have been commenting on since its availability here in Oz via CoffeeSnobs and our Andy.

The Brazen is going to get a bit of a work out from now on around our place, it's so easy to use and produces such terrific results. It was actually my intention to buy one after selling the DJE DB but Andy beat me to the punch....

Very happy campers here now in Warwick and thanks again Andy.
    You're a champion mate...

    Mal.

    Good on you Andy!
Andy might do the sourcing and roasting etc to run the business side of things, and moderate the forum here, but as best I can tell from my few years here Mal is one of the pillars upon which the breadth of knowledge and experience this forum has to offer stands.
Mal I'm very happy to hear that your coffee journey is going sideways instead of backwards!

What a great surprise, and a most generous gift!

The Brazen is a great machine and also has some nice little settings you can 'play' with to extract the best coffee for your tastebuds!

    Enjoy!

(said with a sheepish blush)... no worries Mal.

I hope it's easier for you and Di to use than the espresso machine and you and yours have many great brews ahead.

Don't forget to set the timer before going to bed. I love the eyes half shut stagger to the ready to drink carafe every morning and then a top-up in the travel mug for the drive to work.

    Enjoy!

Hey, even better than a gold watch! Are you using the kony to grind for the brazen Mal?

Good luck with the journey, I've said it twice and I'll say it again, I can't wait to see how you adjust your roasting to suit the brazen.

Too right mate. The Kony's not going anywhere any time soon...
