Is rust on the frame under drip tray an issue?
I watched a few videos of Profitec and ECM machines recently that have those nice stainless steel guide rails under the drip trays.
Are aftermarket rails like this available?
My concern is that the drip tray will scrape off the paint of the painted steel frame over time. It would be sad if my new machine (Bezzera BZ10) developed some rust that could be prevented.
Is that a real issue? What do you do to prevent it - in a nice way?

Morning BLW, wouldn't be overly concerned, Bezzera machines are well built, the frame/rails you mention are powder coated and very durable.
The main cause of rust in machine frames is water spills and leaks, don't let the drip tray overflow, take care when filling the tank etc and all should be good.
I have a 9 year old Bezzera machine, not a sign of rust.

If you're really concerned about it, you could buy some very thin adhesive Teflon tape and stick this on the rails where the drip tray slides...

My Giotto Evo has a powder coated chassis, not stainless. I had the same concern but was convinced that it would not be a problem. As yet it hasn't been an issue but it does have plastic covers over the frame where the drip tray slides in. Keep it dry and you should be right.

PS. Not sure how old my machine is......... maybe 5 years
