    What is this machine?

    Hi

I would appreciate some assistance - this machine has no visible label. The buttons are distinctive as they are oval not round. I am a frequent observer of this website (and occasional shopper here and elsewhere) but I have not seen a machine that looks like this?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks
    Peter

With a face like that, it's gotta be an Isomac of some description

Google image searching led me to believe it's an "Isomac Relax" although that may be an overseas name for it.

Pressure gauges look like the ones on the Alex Duetto, but with inverted colours.

    Cheers

Thanks everyone - it's great to have the knowledge pool out there.

It looked like an interesting machine which I bought on a whim without the opportunity to test it.

Now a more contentious question - where to get it serviced in say a 10km radius of the Sydney CBD? If it is more politically correct, PMs are fine too, but will stifle debate!

Not really into the look of it personally, but was really just saying Isomac have a distinctive functional style. It can most likely be coaxed into making a killer brew, so I'd say it has great personality!

So moving to 'don't judge a book by its cover'

I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder with a lot of the machines on offer...which doesn't necessarily reflect the quality coffee they can produce!

Hi, I have noticed that Di Bartoli have left Bondi Junction and are now in Rosebery. Seems to be little interest from anyone in continuing the discussion, apart from the distinctive (not necessarily attractive) appearance of the Isomac Relax.

Hi Peter, sorry didn't mean to rain on your parade and turn this into a sneering contest. As the saying goes around here, it's what's in the cup that counts and I'm sure the Isomac will serve that purpose well.

I haven't lived in Sydney for many years but I don't imagine with rents the way they are you'd get a service much closer than Rosebery.

Good luck with the new machine

Jetblack at 12km out of the CBD, but north rather than east or west. Best to head over there between 10 and 3 in my experience of the traffic...
