FS (Brisbane) Nuova Simonelli Oscar with anti Vac - Recently stripped and rebuilt
I'm selling my Nuova Simonelli Oscar as I have just purchased a new Oscar II.
This is a great little machine and has served me well for around 8 years and is working like a charm after a rebuild about a year ago. During the rebuild I fitted an anti-vac kit which means the machine can be put on a timer and started without opening the steam valve. One of the great things about this machine is that parts are quality and readily available.
A list of the parts I replaced is in the attached pic (EU174 in total) + I also replaced the heating element.
I also fully cleaned the boiler, copper tubing, and other parts that were not replaced, so the machine is currently pulling shots like new, and can demonstrate on pickup.
It has one issue currently, and that is that there is a very small leak from the steam wand after it has been on for a while - i.e. it drips. This does affect steam making or the shots, but it may need a replacement steam valve to fix. I cleaned the valve when I did the rebuild, but didn't replace it.
There are cosmetic blemishes characteristic of a machine this age, but nothing preventing good operation.
Asking $500, but happy to consider offers.
Given the weight of the machine and packing/shipping costs, it not worth my while shipping it, so local pickup only please.
Just curious on this machine, is it possible the anti-vac kit is responsible for the leak?
Which suburb are you in? North side/South side? I know someone who might be interested.
For those interested it would be good to clarify - assuming you meant it "does [NOT] affect steam making or the shots"
I was interested in your nuovo oscar and was wondering if its still available and if so could I come have a look at it?
Also wondering if this has a water tank or if it needs to be plumbed?
Hello Peter, I was interested in this one too, but noticed that the poster has not responded to recent inquiries. When I checked, I found that he/she has not logged back on the site since this ad was placed more than two months ago. I know that the forum can be checked without logging in, but I suspect that this machine has been sold on another site and we have not been advised.
Yes it's not a good sign. Just out of interest, have you also sent a PM to the seller?
That could in theory get an email notification through to the OP. 👨*
Yes I sent him a PM as well but have not heard anything.
