    FS: Bogav Tampers - 58mm & 53mm

    Hi all,

Was cleaning out the garage and have some test tampers to move along.

Refer to the photo, left to right:
    1) 58mm. This was a test batch of a different handle profile. Ok if you have large hands, if not, find a friend with a lathe. Handle and spacers are Acetal, head is 316 stainless steel. I have 6 of these, $60 each.
    2) 58mm Bogav Assassins that have very fine scratches on the tamp surface slight marks (barely visible and you can't even feel them) or machining imperfections on the handle. Handle and spacers are Acetal, 316ss head. I have 3 of these, $60 each.
    3) 53mm Bogav Classic, fine scratches on tamp surface (barely visible and you can't even feel them). Handle is Duroplast and 304ss head. I have 3 of these, $40 each.

    Hi Chris,

    Closer to 58.5mm.

Forgot to add, postage $8 to metro areas, otherwise pick up is an option too.

    Cheers,
    Gavin.

    Hi Gavin

    Sent you a PM.

Assume the list you have post in regards to the picture is 1) on the left, 2) in the middle and 3) on the right when viewing picture.

Can i assume the 1) tamper with different handle profile is also 58.5mm?

    Thank you Gavin

it sure is a great tamper. excellent quality.
For the benefit of others, I purchased the one on the far right in the image. Weighs 398g and fits perfectly in my VST 18g Ridgeless. Has almost no play in the basket but in the empty basket, it does go way below the level of my usual dose which is approx 20g so I'm assuming it is somewhere between 58.4 and 58.5mm.

how does the 53 mm work in a breville 53/4mm bes860/847/840 type group basket.
also looking for a precision basklet from a odd size "ITALIAN" basket to fit this group handle as well

    Hi Jwill,

Not sure how it would work. The tamper size is 53.2mm though, if that helps.

    Cheers,
    Gavin.

    Hi Gavin,
How would the 58.5mm go in a 20g VST ridged basket do you think?
