Now that your wanted ad is in the right place all you need to do is add your price willing to pay.

There are a few levers kicking around on gumtree, notably a Microcimbali for restoration.

Daniel. Are you looking for a single group domestic or a larger commercial. We have some that we do restore ourselves that we haven't got to yet.
Let me know what you are looking for and a price point.
    Regards

Thanks for putting my add in the right place wasn't to sure where it belonged.

i have seen the microcimbali adds on gumtree but only just started looking around to see what is out there. Currently travelling through Italy and have seen so many lever machines that have got me interested. Already have a nice home machine and grinder I use for every day so it's more about a project and the bonus of being able to play around with a lever machine at the end.

I'd love to hear what you have available Anthony, single group machine more so, and price point of 500-2500 depending on what catches my eye. Old faemas certainly do that

    Vintage lever machine - wanted

Hey snowy sorry this doesn't help you but couldn't help but share my recent experience. Was searching on gumtree and saw an elektra mcal pretty old looking the base rusted ect. The guy advertising for $2000. I offered $250 and after a bit of negotiation he admitted he just wanted it gone and didn't really know the value of it. So yeh got it for $250, spent about $300 on it in the end. It actually worked fine when I first started it up but I decided to replace the element cos the terminals were all rusted up basically fell apart when I touched them, replated the base with copper bought a few other little replacement parts, cleaned it up replaced all seals and hey presto I've got a restored elektra 1989 sitting next to my Cremina now which I never thought I would especially given my other halfs lack of enthusiasm for my obsession. Managed some pretty amazing shots so far probably on par with the Cremina at its best, but much more unpredictable than the Cremina. All the best with your search and let the forum know about your project Also I'd stay away from the microcimbali they have aluminium boilers that are prone to deterioration

Thanks, as in in Italy I'm thinking of going to look at some machines while I'm here. What's people's thoughts on the 50s gaggia vs faema machines like Americas and Uranias etc. Is it just an aesthetics preference or is one Going to be a better machine and better resale etc?

Either is a gem although I'm partial to the substantial and majestic Gaggia group. If I saw the two brands side by side condition may be the deciding factor.
