    Nicaragua Matagalpa A

A very nice bean this one - first time I've trialed a Nic.
I roasted my first batch to a baseline profile (medium ramp to drop just before second crack).
Was blessed with lovely smooth malty, earthy, scotch finger biscuit flavours and minimal acidity as espresso, right from Day 2. I've also been drinking through the aeropress over the long weekend, and getting a very smooth brew with nice aromatics, also into the biscuit aromas with perhaps a hint of aniseed. Blended with some Biftu as well really worked a treat!

My first roast of these too.
roasted on 24th, almost to second crack
very nice, I would agree with malty.
just had a latte from a double basket extraction, though, and suddenly it's a chocolate explosion, yum

Today I roasted some Nicaragua Finca Dipilto Maragogipe that I got from Snobs some time back.

    They are huge beans.

I forget how they went last time.

    Barry.
