Gonna be my next bean purchase...
    Andy's roast/flavour notes are enticing.

It's fantastic, Mal. The best Guatemalan I've had yet.

How do you guys like this for espresso? Is it too zingy?

That would depend on your roast level, I haven't tried it as espresso yet but if the roast was around second crack it should produce a good espresso.

That what i sort of like about some Guatemala coffee and this one does have a zing about it. As mentioned by Trevor if you roast more to SC it should produce a goos espresso. You lose some of the zing IMO.

Just enjoying a V60 brew of the Jacaltenango, the zing was there in abundance along with rich ripe fruit notes and a juicy/velvety body, roast is 8 days post roast taken into a vigorous first crack and then cooled for filter brewing.
A most enjoyable Easter Monday treat!!!

Wow, am I glad this bean is back. Roasted only 3 days ago (so I can only see it getting better) in the Behmor 1600+, 380gm (400,P2,B). Pulled it right on first second crack. A super easy to roast, evenly sorted batch IMO.
My wife likes her coffee in the morning and the last couple of weeks I've tried to get her off the 1 sugar in each cup (she has a latte). This morning, this ripper of a roast was the sweetest shot, and enjoyed thoroughly by her. I had as a long black and it was stunning, silky smooth. I've got a little blend I usually knock up which includes a central, but I think this is just too good on it's own to muck around with other beans! Will try a lighter roast to see how it goes in the aeropress for work.
