CoffeeSnobs FairCrack - July 2010 Pulpers

    Hey CoffeeSnobs!

FairCrack has just purchased 2 more pulpers for small farming villages on Southern Kilimanjaro.

Thanks to Bente and Ralph at Machare coffee for sourcing these again. *They will soon install and then show the farmers how to use them too.

At the moment the two pulpers are sitting at Machare Estate (pictures below) and as soon as I know more about the location and the villages that are getting these Ill post it up here.

This is just as exciting as the first pulper, and now our total donated pulper tally is six!

Huge congrats and back-slaps to FairCrack supporters everywhere.

    8-)

The wildlife must be wondering what the noise is from all those pulpers in the District. *;D

Great work Bente, Ralph, Andy, and of course CSers everywhere! :)

Awesome work to all involved, maybe a google earth .zml file could be made so CSs can physically see all the locations of the pulpers?

So good to see our little foundation making a difference 8-)

Nice work and congrats go equally to the CS community, Bente and Ralph at Machare coffee and the small farming villages on Southern Kilimanjaro.

    Well done all

I forgot to mention that we are also providing the funds to build raised drying beds for the beans after pulping for the new "central processing units" (CPUs). The raised beds will happen after the pulpers are in and setup.

Nice to be able to see the actual hands-on results of positive action taken on behalf of the community, and to feel I have contributed, albeit in a very small way.

Excellent job done by all accounts

Hmmm... maybe not... for fear of being fodder for local critters!

However I must say that Tanzania is very high on my travel wish-list. I would love to see the villages first hand and will one day.... one day.

An update on the two pulpers and drying racks...

They have been placed in two villages on Kilimanjaro, Ngumeni and Shinga and the drying racks have all been built, delivered and are in use!

    Good news.
It looks like the Tanzanian coffee industry is really coming along thanks to us.

Looking forward to a bigger crop and a chance to sample some of it.

I agree and as my two trees are flowering again the videos have given me ideas regarding my own drying racks. ;)
