    FairCrack Blanket Auction 2013

    FairCrack Blanket Auction 2013

We have 10 very special, hand made Kwera Weavers blankets that we shipped in with the Tanzania coffee and as a fund raiser for FairCrack we are offering them here to the highest bidding CS'rs.

100% of the sale price will go back to FairCrack.

    Bidding:
Simply post a reply in this thread with the price you want to bid, the amount of blankets you wish to purchase and how you want them shipped to you if you win.

    Finishes:
    Midnight (AEDT) Monday 16th December

    Shipping:
A single blanket will fit in an express post satchel, multiple blanket shipping will be calculated at the end of auction and invoiced (at cost) manually through BeanBay Tuesday 17th December.

    Delivery:
We will ship blankets same day the payment reaches our account which should mean that the blankets arrive to you early enough to gift at Christmas.

See the blankets being made: Blanket Making Kwera Weavers, Moshe, Tanzania

And some of the 1000+ blankets we funded for the villages: CoffeeSnobs FairCrack - Kibosho Blanket Project

    Good luck!

    On ya fellas!

It should be noted that for this fundraiser you are bidding on a blanket or number of blankets, the colour will be randomly selected (lucky-dip style).

    Thanks for the reply Javaphile.
Nice metric work from the green bloke in the USA who normally works in inches, feet and 29th/33rds cryptic amounts.

Just a reminder (that I should have mentioned in the monthly email)...

    Finishes:
    Midnight (AEDT) Monday 16th December

(so we have time to receive payment and freight them to you before Christmas)

    Hi Andy,

Can you tell us what they are made of ?
Would they make a better picnic blanket to sit on or warm blanket to cuddle in front of the telly ?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure if they're cotton or wool. Either way while you could use them for a picnic blanket they're definitely a blanket that will keep you warm and toasty in front of the telly.

Everyone seems keen on bidding up in $5s or $10s. The aim of this is not to get the blankets at the cheapest possible price. The aim is to help people! I'll take two at $150.

Yes, well that is how an auction works, i am sure no one is trying to get these as cheap as possible as you would like to put it, just looking back through though at least those $5 and $10 bids went higher and not just matched the previous bid as you did with your first bid

    Anyway back to the auction.
    I will raise my bid for 1 @ $175.

    cheers

To make things a bit easier here's a listing of where bidding stands.

The list is current as of the time it was posted. If there's a error in your listing drop me a PM.

The list will be updated and moved to the end of the thread at purely random and capricious times.

If there are multiple identical bids it's first in is last out.

So with-out further ado here's the current top bids:

    $200 GR8WineandCoffee
    $175 Banjo
    $162.68 Barry O'Speedwagon
    $162.68 Barry O'Speedwagon
    $150 njkeng
    $150 njkeng
    $150 thegordon
    $130 cd
    $130 cd
    $115 taco

Wow what a huge effort CS'rs!

    $1856

    raised for FairCrack
    (after rounding-up Barry's creative bid)

    1. $250 Banjo
    2. $250 njkeng
    3. $200 GR8WineandCoffee
    4. $175 amellor
    5. $175 chokkidog
    6. $165 taco
    7. $162.68 Barry O'Speedwagon
    8. $162.68 Barry O'Speedwagon
    9. $160 thegordon
    10. $155 JMan

I'm really glad that after a slow start everyone got into the spirit of the auction and dug deeper that I thought anyone could at this time of year. Rest assured that 100% of your donation will hit the ground and do some amazing things.

If you missed out on a blanket but would still like to donate something to FairCrack feel free to use the BeanBay link: CoffeeSnobs - BeanBay - Other Stuff - FairCrack Direct

I'll invoice the blanket winners shortly and will cap freight at a flat $10 (I'll shout the difference).

    Merry Christmas CoffeeSnobs

Andy, thanks for the opportunity to bid on something so unique, i tell workmates and friends about FairCrack and they look at me in bewilderment, it's not very often you see the kind of generosity you display and what you have set up with FairCrack is amazing and i often think how could anyone not want to get involved in that.
Java, thanks for the auction updates.

Many thanks for the opportunity to give a few dollars back to a worthy cause. I have got a lot from 'Coffee' over the years and look forward to future opportunities like this. Here, we know where it goes.

Picked mine up from PO yesterday. Can't work out whether the smell reminds me of this 'Brumby Jack' book that I had as a young child (I think they'd deliberately adulterated the pages), or the saddlery room at my nan's old farm....or both. Either way, a great pair of blankets.

    Awesome.
It's great to hear some of them have arrived to their new homes.

I look forward to telling Bente about this thread too so she can feed back to the blanket workshop and the villagers what an amazing lot of people we have here!
