Silly Coffee Flavoured Foods I have bought...

Coffee, I love it and although I know anything that makes a claim to be coffee flavoured will as best be "something sorta like a coffee flavour" I still find myself buying it "just to try".

Im sure YOU do this too so feel free to post your silly coffee food in this thread...

Silly Coffee Flavoured Foods I have bought #1

Yep, coffee flavoured peanuts. Contents showed 1% coffee powder, 1% coffee flavour but I still bought it expecting them to taste like coffee.

Even my 5 & 7 yo kids said "they are nice but dont taste much like coffee"

    ;D

I dunno andy - thats about the silliest coffee flavoured food Ive ever seen, how the hell are we supposed to top that?

Best I can do is some coffee flavoured cheese I once bought - was pretty bad.

Im sorry.... but I think coffee flavoured cheese IS WAY FUNNIER!!

Ive never been a great fan of coffee flavoured things. I think the only thing Ive bought was choc coated coffee beans (for someone else).

sigh... Im guilty of those too. The indo Kopi ones are reasonable but yes, only "sorta coffee".

Weak white instant with 3 sugars maybe similar.

These are Snows Assorted Confectionary. No mention of any coffee related ingredients. Although may contain nuts.

a weak white instant flavour with 3 sugars would have been nice :-)

Ill make you some of mine - or you can make your own. Just make a toffee mix with sugar and espresso instead of sugar and water. ;D

    Tastes like turkish!

Ive always been partial to a glass of coke with a few drops of espresso coffee.

They already have much in common: colour, "crema" caffeine.

But the addition of coffee alters the coke texture, making it lighter, fizzier and the taste is superb. So is the bouquet. Roll on summer.

I was given a coffee scented candle- even had coffee beans through it. I dont think there was much coffee smell while it burnt but it sure smelled good when you put it out- a real sweet rich smell

One coffee-scented thing thats actually pretty cool is the coffee/chocolate Sonic Death Monkey shower gel from Lush:

    http://lush.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=9721

Most of the stuff they use in their products is all-natural, and sure enough, it has real coffee in it . The smell of coffee isnt too strong, but its quite refreshing first thing in the morning, though perhaps not as much so as that first double espresso :)

hi all, not exactly food, but i have coffee incense. It smells like a blend of
sandlewood and espresso, not bad for covering the odd slip up.

    Time to reawaken this, if only temporarily;

Im holidaying in Malaysia at the moment, and ran across this. Strangely, it lies along the lines of Robustos post previously:

PEPSI TARIK (derived from the drink Teh Tarik; tarik actually means pulled referring to the method of preparing the drink)

Luckily (?) it tasted nothing like coffee, but had an uncanny similarity to vanilla coke...

Also, after 10 days without a decent coffee, I visited Starbucks. Results were the same as Melbourne - massive mug, spooned seafoam froth, burnt tongue. Shouldve known better.

I bought some coffee flavoured beer while o/seas.
While theyre two of my favourite things, it didnt quite come together so well.
But was glad it was beer with a bit of coffee, and not the other way around.

I was at a brew your own beer factory a few weeks ago and of the 200 beers they have recipes for they had "Expresso Stout" despite the bad spelling I asked about it as we were brewing our beer of choice. Turns out they put whole beans in a bag that hangs inside the vat whilst it is being brewed.

They have an exchange program where you can swap 6 beers you made for 6 beers someone else makes. I am picking my beers up on Saturday so I may swap one for a try of the coffee infused stout if available. Although normally on principle I dont buy anything that is spelt Expresso ;)

I know Belinda uses coffee in her porter recipe. I would think that e(s)presso stout would be very similar to porter.

yeah, there used to be a Jalna one available here in Australia as well. Coles were the only one to stock it though and they stopped last year. It was pretty good, very tasty when used in porridge with dates and cinnamon.

Seen a gift pack at Target around mothers day and was coffee soap, body cream and 2 other body related products. I think if you used them people would think you were very addicted to coffee.

A couple of days ago I bought this.

Did it taste like coffee? Nup but the chocolate hit was pretty good.

Interesting effort by the marketing people though... the picture of the "Kenya" coffee in the sack is roasted and ground (maybe its instant).

Imagine how much you would loose moving one of those around.

    on the label...

"come on, and enjoy its original taste"

....I thought that was a cack so I bought it.

It wasnt too bad for plastic milk in a can, in fact a far better iced coffee than BigM or similar 20% sugar drinks.

I still think I can do a little better at home though.

so... 100 cans of this would be 0 x 100 and my accepted dietary intake?

Posted the pic as a bit of a teaser hey Andy!

Strained the neck to read the warnings on the side to see components of milk may be precipitated ... mmm. What the muck does that mean? Interpretation - vats of milk left outdoor for rain to pour & mix, or methinks more like certain big dairy corp practices, inject water to milk to extend it.

That does not affect the quality of the product. Did the products quality have any cred from the start anyway?

Do not heat tin on an open fire ... combustible coffee flavour sensation - now theres an idea!

Gotta love those American nutrition labels. Highly informative, but you cannot possibly compare to other products because of variable serving sizes. Theres no standard (x) per 100 ml.

Theres usually a million different coffee-style beverages in your local asian supermarket. Some are interesting, while others are downright revolting.

Hhhhmmm.....Coffee Beer. A local Micro Brewery (http://www.surlybrewing.com/index.php) has recently been named as producing the best beer in the US. Now Im not a big beer drinker but when I perused their site and saw their newest beer I knew Id be paying them a visit!

    Coffee Bender
    Special Release

This beer is our regular Bender beer with a cold-press coffee-brewing process. We steep 20 gallons at a time, so this beer will pop up at Tours, beer fests and special tappings. The coffee is roasted locally at Coffee & Tea Limited in Linden Hills.

Imagine our surprise when we got a call from Edwin Martinez, 3rd generation coffee grower from Finca Vista Hermosa in Guatemala. Edwin informed us that his grandfather bought the land years ago and he now sells the beans around the world. Look for their coffee bags next time you are at the brewery.
CP and Finca Vista Hermosa. Definitely going to be paying them a visit when next they brew up a batch! ;D ;D ;D

in the "cup" it was a little cloudy.
    Flavour was...
Not very coffee, a slight coffee aftertaste.
The sourness was over powering, sour like lemons.

Over all it was an interesting drink and might be nice on a summers day but certainly not beer and certainly not coffee.

the last line of the spiel intrigued me ...

from what I could decipher - "with savoury friands or atone on the piazza"

Friands? Sweet, definitely not savoury thanks.

My grandiose piazza? Alas, no atonement ... just a good sized porch, with occasional debauchery!

Labelled Crema, & supposedly being a beer Andy ... good head?

Hehehe Me too Andy. I got to taste the Coffee Bender referred to a few posts up at an open house at the Brewery here a month or so ago. One word.Awesome!!!

The Finca Vista Hermosa flavors came through clearly in the beer and it was a wonderfully smooth drink that was very nummy on the palette. :) :) :)

I will definitely be paying them a visit the next time they brew this up!!

Firstly Id like to applaud them on ther semi colon use in that last bit.

Secondly, it does taste like dark chocolate with finely crushed roasted beans in it.
I like it and am saving the other half for tomorrow.
