    Wow Scoots!
Very stylish but unsuitable for use by those of us who are left handed.

Havent been on here for a very long time here is mine direct from Terra
If your usual is a double in a single cup, the easy way is to screw off the double spout and have the extraction drop straight down.

Then when you get nuts you take a hole saw to the portafilter make it bottomless! ;D

I thought it would fit well, but realised as the pour came out I mis-judged, so I took the picture and quickly added another cup so the I only lost the tiniest amount of lovely coffee. ;D

    My collection so far.

The standard Duralex Picardie latte and espresso glasses, with some Benzer cappucino and espresso cups (about $12 per set from Victorias Basement), and double insulated Zuhause large latte glasses (also from Victorias Basement).

I picked up these recently in Italy, virtually across the road from the Ducati factory in Bologna. Much like some of their bikes, the cup's design is more aesthetic than practical. The handle is virtually useless unless you have very small fingers, which I don't! They're 150mL, which is my preferred size for milk-based drinks.

Hi guys! Been looking for a set of pastel ACF cups but every place I've been to doesn't stock them anymore. Do you know of any places or respectable websites that I could buy them from? I live in Sydney.

    Thanks!

I was sure site sponsor Jetblack Espresso sold them. But I can't find them on their website... Cafe Silipo up in brissy sells them - Caffe Silipo are now selling ACF Italian made espresso cups.. Alternatively, use the Quote form (CoffeeSnobs Site Sponsors Quote) to send an email to all sponsors. Those that can help you will respond.

PS: The pastel cups are my favourite as well!

You will find it very hard to get ACF cups as the company has gone bankrupt and closed down.
Try and find a local distributor of INKER , these are made in croatia.

I saw these two espresso cups on the weekend and couldn’t resist. They look like crushed paper cups but they are porcelain.

Found these at a school market on the way back from a weekend in the Blue Mountains (too much good coffee):

    Stainless.jpg

I already had an $8 plunger, he threw these in for $2 to make it an even $10. I haven't found anything quite like them on line - they have flattened "thumb sized" bits going from the base to halfway up and say "INOX 18/10 MADEinITALY" on the bottom. I'm guessing they were ex cafe stock as I got 5 saucers and 2 cups and all are quite scratched, the words on the bottoms of the saucers are almost worn off. They look good on my machine and kinda match my 2 tone wedding ring . Now I just need to find 3 more to match the extra saucers...

There were some cups on sale at Aldi on Saturday. 2 cups for 5 bucks, ok colours but I thought they were a great shape and size for a flat white!

Bodum double wall cups, one of the few if not the only double wall cups that are machine washable, they have proper silicone(?) plugs that prevent water ingress, cloudy double wall cup is not a good look

    Hi All,

I'm a long term lurker ..first time poster...like many others i've been bitten by the coffee bug and am a total coffee snob

Just bought the Giotto V3 and now i am looking for some decent cups. I found some nice ACME ones from Newzealand and about to buy them then i found this thread...Now my question is can anyone share their views on the following:

    - does the shape of the cup and quality of cup really makes a difference? From my perspective its a resounding YES!
    - Ceramic vs Porcelain cups...anyone have a view?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tristan

    Hi Tristan,

    Welcome to CS!

I agree, shape and quality of the cup will have a difference. To me, it is like the wine glass effect on wine but with coffee it could be a little more subjective in that what you like to drink out of can be what makes the coffee good or bad. Of course, I could probably put down one of my Illy espresso's in front of a non coffee snob and they'd not have a clue as to what they are about to drink out of. Put it in front of a coffee snob and they'll appreciate it even more.

This is just my opinion of course and just because I have one, doesn't mean I'm right! So, in the interests of making sure you have the right cups for you, go and investigate to your hearts content!

    Thanks Scoota_gal,

I ended up getting the nuova point b/c i got a good deal on it.

Its really nice but i think i want the ACME ones where the shorter but wider so i can do some nice latte art.

    Cups | Acme & Co.

FYI. I paid $50 for the nuovopoints and the ACME retails for $60 in Melbourne, Australia.

    Hope it helps someone.

    Cheers

    T

    Hi kike10,

Fairly certain it's from the 'Hotelware' range of Dudson Pottery, in Stoke-on-Trent, England.

Hopefully have a more definitive answer in a couple of days.

I've just ordered some red cappuccino and espresso cups from segafredo(dot)com(dot)au/accessories/coffee-cups. Was looking at getting some ACF but the price difference is huge. Hopefully I can get some good art going with those cappuccino cups!

We have some Bodum dual walled glasses but they're in the dishwasher at the moment because they get so much use. My favourite cups we have are these espresso cups that my wife's aunt brought us back from Morocco (I think). They're so nice we've never used them.

A Cafe on the sunshine coast were using these cups, which were the brand of coffee I usually buy often. I needed a set for myself so I acquired some by knowing the right person. IPA cups with a custom design from the coffee company, also have a small cappuccino set too

Here is my collection of Illy cups. They are displayed in a Wilkins and Kent cd cabinet which has been hung on the wall. Products - Furniture - CD and DVD Cabinets - Wilkins and Kent Furniture and Design
