    Coffee issues..

Hey all.. I normally buy fresh roasted beans to use in my EM7000, but today I ran out and had to buy a supermarket brand of beans. When I ground the beans and poured a shot, I got almost no pressure and it poured in about 6 seconds. I then ground finer and added 20% more grinds into the filter basket and finally got some decent pressure. The coffee however was very sharp in flavour and not particularly nice. Can anyone clue me in on what to do next?

FYI I'll be buying my regular beans this weekend!

Buy some beans from a specialty roaster. There is not much you can do with the beans you have except as compost.

i find that as my coffee stales, water starts flowing through it more freely, and i need to tighten the grind. supermarket coffee is super-stale, and necessitates a very tight grind.

nothing much you can do with the beans you have, other than just bearing with their product, or using them for cold brew.

Guess I'll just have to take your word on this one.
