    Sunbeam EM0440 adjustment

    Hi All,

I have purchased two of these grinders - for caf and decaf and have already found that the only one I have unpacked so far is grinding too coarsely even on the finest setting.
I have purchased shims to adjust this but am having difficulties undoing the nut at the top of the lower burr. Gripping the conical burr is the problem

I have tried grips with and without material between the burr and the grips.
I can see that putting a screwdriver down to jam it is going to bend / break the plastic tags at the lower end where the ground coffee exits

Does anyone have any ideas ?? - would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Robin

And how did it go getting to the right "fineness".

Just bought one, seems to me that the adjustment collar makes little difference to the fineness of the grind.
I can see the burr moving up and down as I adjust it, but the "feel" of the grind does not seem to alter much.
