    Designingbycoffee roast profile

Itís been a while since Iíve done a roast. I used to follow a roast profile by designingbycoffee as a guide that had heat gun temps and ambient temps on it. Can anyone post a link?

    Thanks!

It was a bit different to that he’d actually plotted the heat gun temps too

It's most likely this one then...
Corretto Batch Size - Heat Input Adjustments?
You'll have to do a search through the thread to find what you're after...

    Thanks Mal
    Reckon that was the one
I do have the PDF version of the profile I used to use manually … attached DBC Roasting Profile Sheet Jul15.pdf
It's a little out of date now but has the basics

thaks the one I remember was similar but one has more info. Thanks! I use it as a guide and then play around with the heat and time. It’s very helpful.

Do you time your roast from when you drop the beans or from when you start pre heating the pan?

I preheat to around 110-140į (dependent on ambient temps) then drop in the beans – my time starts from the drop point. I aim to hit turning point around the same place each time, juggling the gun input temp depending on the ambient temps. Any of my actual profiles I post show the actual gun temps I use (in red) – 55 is 550į on the Bosch HG etc

Here are some virtually indecipherable scribbles showing how the pre- drop and post- first crack guns temps are juggled to suit winter to summer ambient range … but that might just confuse the issue! So ignore if you feel led
