    Coffee in Kazakhstan

Not expecting to much I'm happy to confirm the coffee here is rather good. Like Australia they have many world wide name brands, however along with many other changes to this country they are also having a little uprising of decent coffee shops that mirror what is cool and popular here. When I say Kazakhstan I should admit I'm basing this in the former capital Almaty.

Currently in Zhangjiajie, China which is amazing, spent 8 days in Almaty Kazakhstan, great place, different food interesting culture. Spent some time outside of Almaty and have to say the Borat theme rings true.. worth while place to visit though if you want something different. Chris Borats sister was spotted on numerous occasions..

    Coffee in Kazakhstan

I suppose you stayed in some fancy hotel rooms on your trip and splashed your USD $ around?

That's really interesting. I have a friend running tours in Kazakhstan and Central Asia so this gives me another reason to go if I decide to visit. I must say I find coffee culture in far-flung places very interesting... I'd love to go to Tehran which (I hear) has decent coffee shops too!!
