    ONA Coffee House Canberra

Located at 68 Woolongong St Fyshwick, ONA is a roaster/supplier and runs a very popular cafe at this address.
Really great coffee. The place really buzzes.
    Do yourself a favour.

I'd expect nothing less from a former World barista champion

Stopped in today hoping to try the Raspberry Candy blend. Apparently because it can be a bit fiddly, and easy to lose the raspberry and candy flavours they don't offer it to drink, only as beans. When I said I planned to buy a kilo and asked if they'd make me one from that because I wanted to know what it should taste life they readily agreed and as soon as there was a lull in coffee orders dialed it in (in about 2 shots) and the barista brought out our two espressos. Mine didn't have much raspberry but my wife's was incredible, fairy floss through the middle to a bright raspberry finish. She lovingly let me have most of hers. When we had finished the barista came back over and asked how it was etc, told me the recipe (20g in, about 41-42g out in about 27s, though I think he said he'd got about 37g out today) and wished us well. I had an ONA roll (bacon and egg roll, with lots of both and a choice of sauces) and my wife had pork belly tacos. Both were excellent in different ways (the roll was heavy and stronger flavours, the tacos were lighter all round). Everything else on the menu looked just as good. Would happily visit frequently if it wasn't 3hrs away!

Did they give you any hints as to what beans went into the bacon and egg roll blend?

I don't remember the name of the farm but I'm pretty sure the bacon was single-pig, and each of the eggs was single-chicken. :P

I was in Canberra back in October for work so took the opportunity to stop at Ona for breakfast on the way back to Sydney.

I had their "Berries" blend which I think used to be call "Black Forest".

I don't know why they changed the name because it did taste like a Black Forest cake.
