Re: We know you like coffee, but what else?

While were on religion, I must mention Henry Ford ;). My no.1 hobby is restoring my 65 Mustang which I had shipped from "Bethlehem" (L.A.) 2 years ago. This hobbys not for the faint hearted but the result will be well worth the effort. Most Coffee Snobs would understand this while chasing that "God Shot" of espresso!
Another hobby of mine is photography. For those muscle car lovers amongst us (I hope Im not the only one :-[) click the following link for a view of my favourite car shots http://www.flickr.com/gp/9376019@N07/Wu2D1x

    Evan.

P.S. I hope my comments are not taken offensively by any fellow CSs. Definitely not my intention.

Im in the Chevy camp too, as some here know. ;) But I can be a bit partial to a Mustang, be it a 65 or even later. Ive driven a friends 67, it was an awesome experience for me.

My Chev...sure, its no classic like a Stang or a Camaro (my personal fave choice of US muscle) but its my pride and joy...

Truly, there is nothing as sweet as the sound of the burble of a Chev V8... 8-)

Yep theyre nice alright.... managed to score a drive in a L/H drive 1970 Boss 429 a long time ago and that was awesome. Still, my fave ride was and is in a very well looked after 1969 C3 350 Z smallblock. Really responsive and well balanced and when that Z started to get on song at about 4,500 rpm..... well ::), that was the best sound Ive ever heard from a V8 by any manufacturer.

    Ahh, the memories..... ;)

Thanks, Im looking forward to it. It was a long elimination series not without the odd problem.

Your right Javaphile, Ill be in the shooting section of the team (rifle), something about my CS name? ::)

The good thing about this year, is I have a real chance of reaching the final with a posibility of a medal if my last 12 months is anything to go by! :)

Ive started playing drums again after a 30-odd year break. Now moved onto electronic drums and I have built most of my kit myself.
Im also interested in music and travel, and managed to combine the two in an article in Saturdays courier-Mail.

Topshot: must say, rifle/target was in my mind, but the name "Warren" didnt ring a bell... i suppose Russell Mark has been in the news too much * :P
but hten, coulda been a basket ball player, beach volleyball...( what would you wear??) soccer...

good stuff, Warren, always have had great admiration for people who can hold the target in their sights and then not stuff it up at the very last breath... :-[
ill be looking for the Olympic "rifle" results now.... ;)

Re: We know you like coffee, but what else?

Lets see,. my life and interests have changed so much because of circumstances, so it will be easier to break it up into two clear categories.

    Before three kids:
Carpentry, Woodturning, trail bike riding, diving, fishing, playing with anything electronic, drinking beer with hubby and mates *:o , golf, running, being super fit, loved cooking *gasp*, career in IT.

    With kids:
Utimately my kids and anything theyre interested in, IT - particularly home networking and building my website, love playing with code. reading IT mags, watercolour painting, drawing, bending wire :D, melting glass (though not much time available anymore but you can see past artwork in my galleries and last wirework pieces Woven Sculpture Pendants located at very bottom of my store page as I have withdrawn them from sale. - click on thumbnails to view entire paintings/photos etc), *Photography/photoshopn, hate cooking with a passion (just another chore now, especially when they think its a restaurant and they all want something different *>:( ::) ) *

Im the handyman of this house (hubby has no patience and is all thumbs),. and have installed all fittings to doors and windows, installed ducting for air con, wiring for extra telephone and computer cables, refitted pantry door jam to house regular cavity door instead of heavy useless mdf moulded door. Fixed fridge, washing machine, lawn mower and just about everything else in this darn house. Have also refitted all light fittings with new transformers after two of them burnt out. Patched holes in walls,.after making them,I had a laugh to fix leak in mothers house from behind her spa and another behind her shower. Done complete watering systems at three houses,..erm I could go on forever.

    Other things I adore;
    Fresh crispy salads
    Hot Thai, Malay, Indian food
An icy cold beer after a hot day in the sun
Funny movies (but not stupid funny)
    Popular music from the 60s, 70s, 80s 90s & 00s
A few hours home on my own.... peace and quiet
Late at night when everyones in bed
White chocolate, licorice and almond rocka
    Keeping fit
Getting together with my mother and sister for coffee
    Anything that makes me laugh.
Chillin in front of my computer,.. just surfin and chatting to the kids on the computer, sharing music and youtube vids,.. whaahaha. Two of them are sitting right beside me, one in her room. *I send messages to them to tell em dinner is ready, stop arguing or,.go to sleep etc because they all have headphones on and cant hear me most of the time ::) ;D

Lots of hobbies, not enough money, unfortunately ;)

Coffee is a relatively recent passion which adds nicely to long time passions of cooking and drinking good wine.

Spending time with the family is the biggest fun in life (as big as cooking, I guess!)

apart from that I am doing a bit of photography and enjoy traveling, fishing, surfing, playing basketball...

and of course last, but not the least, is football (that is European football) ;-) both playing and watching.

I have to say that after coffee my greatest passion is Opera! My favourite aria is "Si Mi Chiamano Mimi" from LaBoeme.

Good Opera makes the hair on my arms stand up. I guess being Irish it stirs my passionate blood.

Italians are passionate people, they love great music, cars and food. Irish are passionate too ...... when they are passionate about something they blow people up. ;D ;D ;D

Have evolved thru ...passionate soccer player, triathlete culminating at Hawaiian ironman.. two kids, ground up restoration of 1954 Holden FJ special(gotta say putting this in car shows is not as much fun as i thought it would be so just have two a year we go in)Ducati 1999 996 SPS ultimately crashing it at Philip Island on Siberia corner at 140KPH deciding SCUBA was`the go and after a couple of years going up to dive South West Rocks I was spoiled and didnt find the Adelaide waters exciting enough so the gear just sits in the shed, but back on the pushbikes and discovered racing and just riding (and accruing)mountain bikes and havent looked back.I am also trying to learn about fishing and am keen to hear of any good blue swimmer crab recipes.

AHHH, theres the basis of your forum name ... theres a mod here who knows a thing or two about the beast ::) Welcome to this joint, BTW ( ;))

I have a Trek sitting in my garage, tyres perishing as we read, waiting for me to push her up a hill or two ... it sits very near my roaster, so unfortunately gets a look but not a ride ...

    mmmm ... the blues ...

Ive had some delicious results with spanners in a lasagne ...

roast some hydroponic tomatoes, with garlic (whole bulbs), sprinkled with virgin olive oil at 220c, & a tad balsamic & Worcestshire & soy sauce (not the frikkin milk mate! :-? ;D) ...

20mins roast, out, in the pan with crab meat, low heat with a dollop of cream ...

then layer - pasta sheet, crab, tom mix, pasta ... yada, you know the rest of what a lasagne looks like!

Luv the blues for their salty nature ... exquisite if done right :)

Hope Milan is a bit warmer mate, shivering and shooting (accurately) is darn difficult.... To say the least ;)

    Cheers,

    Collecting vintage watches, especially Omegas

All of the above take care of my play money.

    What else?

Well.... I have many hobbies...... and one is playing on my PS3 as well. I am also into WARHAMMER.

The reason for these two activities is my boys - I have two gorgeous boys who I love dearly and I tend to get involved with them quite a bit when I have them every fornight...... I guess you know know a bit more about my personal life.

When we are not doing the above, we go out and have coffee when ever we can..... well, they have baby-cinnos.

I am sure they will end up appreciating coffee like I do when they get older.

    My other passions

Gday all. New here. Only been a member for less than a week but lurked for a while before joining.
46 year old bloke from West Gippsland in Victoria.

    View from my porch

As I mentioned in my other thread EM5900 or EM6910 or Silvia I didnt have enough dosh set aside to purchase a more expensive machine like the 6910 or the Silvia (which I bought today)

I have 2 piggy banks. One is for general stuff like guitar related products like amps and effects and the other is specifically for the running costs of my motorcycle. Chains, sprockets, tyres and servicing products like oil, filters and spark plugs etc.
It was this piggy bank that got raided today to cover the difference I needed to buy my Silvia.

Anyway one of my other passions, besides coffee, is motorcycling and this is my current bike

I also have a nice little collection of guitar gear
