Santoker R6 or Toper TKMSX 5

    Hello Guys!

I would like to seek for each and everyones point if view and feedback with regards our plan to set up a roastery here in Singapore. We are thinking between this 2 brands 1 from China Brand and other on the other hand is from Turkey. Both will be around the same price range but our interests goes more towards the Santoker R6 as it has more control toward the system of roasting including drum speed too. I can see good reviews for toper but so far for santoker r6 is still not too much. We are planning to roast for both our 2 outlets which probably will consume 40kg per for both sides. I have limit our option down to this 2 brands as i am also trying to stick with our budget range also big brands like probat, giesen and diedrich is way too costly for us.

Have anyone already tried either anyone of these brands that i mentioned i will be very appreciative for each and everyones advice.

You will have trouble finding someone who has owned both and can tell you about them.

Another suggestion is to talk to Will at Roastmax Roasters

He has installed roasters all over the Australia and Hong Kong so I doubt Singapore would be a problem.

As for size... If you have the space then look at a 10kg roaster. It's not a lot bigger than a 5kg roaster and doesn't cost double.

To roast 40kg in a 5kg roaster it will take 10 roasts of 20 minutes each plus warm-up time so at least half a day, you will yield 8kg in a 10kg roaster and do it all in 2 hours which will leave plenty of time to roast for other people too (which will help pay for the roaster!)

Thanks Andy for the guidance its a good recommendation to consider. definitely a strong point to consider the 5kg capacity to 10kg. What range of roaster machine can you recommend though? Thanks in advance!
