    1200W Roaster

    Hi CS Home roasters,

Saw this item on Fleabay the other day and just wondering if anyone has used this kind of device before? If so what was the roast quality and size like?

eBay link removed as per Site Posting Policy

Does have an adjustable type thermostat and rotating arm to move the beans around in the "drum".
Also has an Australian plug - although the electrical certifications may be lacking considering the origin.

I am sure a thermocouple & data logger could provide some temperature indication better than the dial on the machine.

    Cheers,

    WhatEverBeansNecessary.

Apologies to the mods for the no no on links...

Anywho the brand is a Rebune (or a knock off) which is sort of a drum roaster with an agitating arm that spins.

Worth giving a go? Anyone with any experience? Looking to upgrade the popper but maybe not a behmor just yet.

    G'day mate...

For the sort of money being asked "on the street" for one of these, I would recommend that you wait a little longer and upgrade to a Behmor directly. The quality of roast batches performed using a Behmor will be much superior, once you have learned its characteristics and become more confident. What's more, there are heaps of Behmor owners here on CS who will be more than happy to provide assistance if and when needed.

    Thanks Mal.

Perhaps popper it is for a little while longer and then consider the Behmor... or until I can convince the wife it is no longer "nice to have" and comes into the "need to have" bucket

    Cheers!

Update for anyone still interested... Just bought a second hand Behmor from another Snob today and will pick it up shortly. Seems one popped up in Adelaide the very next day.
