So as of Saturday night I am now an Adelaide local. I'll have a good chance to try many of the places mentioned in this thread so far (already been to both Fiefy's operations).

I had breakfast at Avila Coffee next to the Crowne Plaza on Hindmarsh Square who are running Campos beans and had an excellent flat white, nice staff too. The journey continues...

If you like good coffee and good wholesome food (breakfast and lunch) that isn't over priced or what I would call "wanky"/flashy, try out Mister Sunshines in Thebarton. A few of their barista's really know what they are doing and the food is excellent. It's getting quite trendy so avoid 9:30-11 rush.

The staff are super friendly and accommodating. And they use the De Groot Coffee Co. Beans from Port Elliot, which have a regular rotation in beans - usually South American.

I'll have to give it a go some time, a bit out of the way during the day as I'm working in the CBD.

As I'm without my home setup until September when it moves to Adelaide (along with the wife & kid) I'm looking for recommendations on where to source bottles of decent cold brew. Anyone got any pointers?

Bar9 in the city do a semi decent cold brew. Mothers milk on unley do cold drip as well which isn't bad. Admittedly I don't know too much about cafe's in the CBD. I know Frewville foodland stock a couple of dfferent cold brew take home bottles, but haven't tried any of them.

Wow, an influx of activity today! I also came here to mention the Seafaring Fool hole-in-the-wall setup on Grenfell Street near Hindmarsh Square - the owner is good for a chat and they've made some impressive coffees using De Groot beans. Probably the best quality I've had in my four weeks in Adelaide so far.

Been in Adelaide for work for the last week or so. Started each day with a large flat white from Fiefy's (Flinders St), and each has been superb (and very swiftly produced). Very impressed. Just a pity it wasn't open on weekends (but I get why).

My team has just moved into the same building above Fiefy's Flinders St, which has worked out well as my new local for when I need a heart-starter during the day! Working in the CBD during the week I've found a plethora of quality options, including Please Say Please on Grenfell St & a relatively new cafe (the name currently escapes me) on the eastern side of Gawler Place, north of Pirie St.

On weekends the best bet would be to head closer to Rundle Mall - perhaps T Bar (Rundle Place, basement level at the entrance to Coles), or Bar 9 underneath David Jones - although there is the Adelaide quirk of these places not opening until 11am on Sundays! Avila next to the Crowne Plaza on Hindmarsh Square is open early on weekends however.

Say hi to Tim from me next time you are downstairs. Is he getting any sleep yet?

I believe I met him yesterday! He wasn't looking too fatigued, could be getting high off his own (caffeine) supply! Has he recently acquired a new alarm clock or the like?
