!!!SOLD!!! - (BFC) Diadema Junior Extra Dual Boiler with PID 4-Sale...

Well, the time has come to list my beloved (BFC) Diadema Junior Extra Dual Boiler for sale. This has taken a lot of soul searching before making this commitment. As quite a few longer term CSers know, I've been struggling with ongoing health and medical issues for quite some time, that have made it ever more difficult for me to keep using the DJE DB, so go, she must...

Has been lovingly cared for over the years and looks more like a brand new machine than one that is now six years old but with my engineering background coupled with a semi OCD nature to take good care of my belongings, it kind of makes sense.

The DJE DB has been serviced regularly since bought with both 6 and 12 month service intervals being religiously carried out. Filtered water has only ever been used based on advice received from Bombora Coffee and Water Supplies - A one time Site Sponsor of CoffeeSnobs. The Boiler and Group internals are close to pristine condition. There are some very minor blemishes on both the Drip Tray and the Cup Warming Tray from normal use but you need to look very hard to find them.

Along with the standard hardware that comes with a new DJE DB, there is a factory made Naked Group Handle, an EP Precision Triple Basket, a Fitted Pullman Tamper and quite a few spare parts (including a new pump), some of which are pictured below. A Cafelat Group Gasket is fitted and a spare is included. This shouldn't require replacing for several years as the Silicone Gaskets don't harden like the standard rubber ones do. It also doesn't require anything like the same force needed to lock and seal the Group Handle; just a light nip-up is all that is required. Both Boilers are insulated and all panels fitted with noise suppression to damp out the pump vibrations - Works quite well.

Before packing up ready for shipping, a final and thorough service was completed including a complete overhaul of the Group where all wearing parts were replaced with new parts supplied by Coffee Parts. The Steam Boiler has also been drained. Not the Brew Boiler though as this doesn't have low water protection since it's not required in normal use.

Some nice coffee porn photos and use descriptions can be found in this thread here...
Diadema Junior "Extra" Dual Boiler with PID Control...
Several photos of the internals and external views taken just before packing up are also attached below.
Details of this exact machine can be found at Site Sponsors websites, here for example...
    https://www.jetblackespresso.com.au/...-extra-db-pid/

Asking Price is $1950.00 with delivery costs to be added on.
No offers please, this is $1,500 below replacement cost.

    All the best,
    Mal.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone looked after their machines like this. There’s no reason a machine of this quality couldn’t last 30+ years if maintained this well. Take note people as this is how you avoid issues and increase the longevity of your coffee machine.
A very fair price for a high quality machine. I hope this finds a good home.

Am sure it'll be quite sad to part with it Mal, but just think, it'll spur on another CSers wild journey through coffee, keep the learning and excitement going and legacy onwards! Wowza a beauty of a machine.. GLWS

I have the same machine and would hesitate to sell if somebody offered me this price for it,and that’s with a number of scratches and no spare parts! Good luck with the sale Mal and thanks for the help when I was setting my one up

Folks, these machines are a pleasure to use and I think at 2k it’s a bargain

obviously Mal's post and photos speak to the great condition of the machine. as the person who bought Mal's first Diadema Junior Extra, i would like to testify as to:
    1. the wonderful work Mal did on preparing the machine for transit (it came on its own pallet)
    2. the state i received the machine in. it was in fact like new
    3. the fact that the machine was never again in as good condition as when i received it (sad truth)

    GLWS Mal
