!!!SOLD!!! - [Melb] Good condition La Cimbali M39 Dosatron

Well, I bought this a while back without knowing what I would get myself into (both in terms of coffee education, and spousal dramas).

I thought it would be a great step upwards from my EM6910, and would automatically give me god shot after god shot, but my skill doesn't do it justice, so I think I have to sell it and find some middle ground. I will probably regret it later.

It's a 2009 M39 Dosatron, meaning it has volumetric dosing and LCD screen with lots of information including boiler temp (IIRC) and a shot timer.

It's very clean inside for its age, a bit of green stuff on some pipes, and a bit of coffee dust around. I haven't cleaned inside, so what you see is what it is. It doesn't have leaks.

It needs a high current power point (20A?), which I don't have. So all my use with it has been with a single element connected (just unplugged the other two). With only a single element it takes about 45mins to warm up.

I only ran it for a month before taking it back out of the kitchen (upon spousal advice that my wellbeing was in danger if I continued to take up half the bench).

Happy to rig it back up for anyone who wants to see it in operation, but please, only if you are serious. While I can't really offer a warranty, I'm a reasonable person and if anything is not as described when you get it to your end, I will work with you to either get it fixed or give you a full refund if that's what you want.

Pickup from hoppers crossing, Melbourne. It's very heavy, a tough 2 person lift even with an empty boiler. approx 87cm x 60cm x 60cm.

Oh, and price? well, given this was around $12k new, I think $1200 neg is fair. Help me to get at least halfway towards a more home-oriented machine

    Cheers,
    Tim

Looks like an amazing deal for someone who could make use of it! I imagine it'd be great for a small community group or something like that, or someone with a very understanding partner..

    Yes, certainly!

I do see these machines going for anywhere from $4k-7k at coffee equipment re-sellers (just have a search on gumtree). My price isn't set this low because it is in poor condition or anything, quite the contrary in fact. I just don't expect anybody to pay those sorts of prices in a private sale.

For info, there are other models of this machine (GT? HD? turbosteam?). I don't know the differences in all the models, just that this one is the Dosatron.

yep from what' iv'e read these are a solid and reliable unit - if I was currently setting up a café, I wouldn't hesitate at buying this from you. A very fair price. Best of luck with a sale.
