    Blend of convenience

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Born of the need for a spare cotton snobs bag, I emptied 1250gm of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe into 1500gm of Columbian Volcan Galeras Supremo, and added about 200gm of Cuban Lavardo which was sitting in the cupboard doing bugger all.

The result.......an absolutely smooth, sweet little darling in milk. And this was only roasted post blend this afternoon. Took it just into SC, with about 8 hours post roast for first taste test. 8-) Tried an espresso as well, I dont have the skills to present a detailed report, other than to say this was probably one of the nicest shots Ive had. Ill have another later tonight on shift, and see what I can come up with in terms of what is in the cup.

I kilo of Yemen Bani Ismail which travelled to and from Ballina one cold, wet and windy summers Monday evening. This was then returned to its original bag and replaced with a kilo of a Kenyan Single Estate AA. 250gm of THIS will be visiting the Hottop today 8-)

Some great blends have emanated from the dregs of almost finished bags, alas never to be repeated again :-/ :-/

This is what I have planned for you greenman coming over this afternoon. I thought we could throw a few left overs from previous beanbays and see what we come up with.

    Re: Blend of convenience

Thankfully this is a blend Ive still got over a kilo of, and not too difficult to replicate if I wish to, although sourcing the cuban again may be a tad antsy. If I had to, Id probably try 60/40 Columbian/Yirga if unable to get the cuban.
