Suggest a good bean to try

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Im open to suggestions about a good bean to try. Ive been drinking Rio Coffees Organic Laos for the last few years (the beans they use at Cibo - Adelaide), and had not found anything nicer until recently when I tried Karmee.

    Hi garb

I presume you mean already roasted?

Why not order some beans from the Brown Bean Bay from here. See upper left.
e.g. CoffeeSnobs Gold or Silver or Esprsso Wow.
Also the Columbian Volcan Galeras I think is nice.

The brown beans from here are pretty amazing, roasted to perfection :-)

Thanks for the suggestions! Will have to give them a try once I get through my current batch.

The Peru, get the Peru. The Brown Bay Peru Grace Villa Estate is the best coffee Ive ever tasted (big call I know, but its good!). And try it with an Arnotts Mandarin Slice, like a Mint Slice but its Mandarin flavoured.

And then, if you havent already, you might get yourself an old popcorn popper and one green bean and give roasting a whirl. That could start you on the path to self-realised coffee nirvana (but very many lives to get there, grasshopper....)

Yemen Bani Ismail... The last 2 roasts I did of this bean, despite not hitting the profile I considered as ideal, its by far the best bean Ive tasted as SO. Shared it with some friends and pretty much got the same response. Currently I have 20 different bean varieties as Ive been "collecting" them to try, now I think Id be happy with just 2 or 3 varieties, so long as one of the is the Yemen and the other/s is/are in case i get bored with the Yemen.

The Bani Ismail has the best rating from my wife.

I too have about 20 different beans and am slowly working through them to reduce the numbers and settle on some favourites.

Another keeper is the PNG Kimel.

Ive got some Limu resting atm that Im going to consider adding to the short list.
