    200g Yirgachefe (2009 crop)
    200g Sumatra Lintong Blue
    150g Brazil Cafezinho Bourbon
    50g India Mudigere Robusta
I cracked this at Day 10 on Wednesday.
In a 25ml double espresso , I could taste the Yirg with a definite robusta kick

Today at Day 13, made a latte + ristretto from the one pour. The ristetto was a pleasantly surprised rather than a knock-your-socks-off but definitely encouraging. Lots going on there. I can taste the berry of the Yirgachefe trying to push througn but the Sumatran earthiness is tending to dominate and, as expected, the Brazilian tends to smooth things out ...

... which, I thought, would go well in a milk-based drink. Well the latte wasnt as nice as the espresso as the milk seemed to disguise all but the earthiness. Even the robusta zing was quite subdued. Getting over a dose of the flu doesnt help the tasting experience.
The Ethiopian + Indo + Brazil *is a bit of a staple for me. Adding the robusta is a new experience but Id probably go a little smaller proportion - perhaps 5% - as it did come through quite prominently both in the flavour and the kick.

I just made my last shot from this today (one month from roasting) and it has delivered all the way. I think the good thing about adding the robusta was it seemed to extend the life of the blend.

It has now been dubbed the Heisenberg blend after a character in Breaking Bad - a new nickname I have been assigned by a workmate. Breaking Bad is about an ex-teacher (Walt aka Heisenberg) who decides to manufacture drugs when he finds out he is terminally ill. Well Im a former teacher and Im supplying drugs (caffeine rather than crystal meth) to my colleague, who I have recently converted to proper coffee consumption.
