EM5800 - bad noise and no liquid??? Brand new machine :o(

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hiya peoples.
Im new here, having bought my espresso machine today :o) Started at basic level with a sunbeam EM5800 :o( but figure that it is a good starting place.
However, I have a problem and because of the time difference in WA, couldnt get the tech support from East Coast.
Ive done everything they tell you to do but it just makes a god awful grinding noise then cuts out, not even a trickle of water or steam and makes this noise on all functions.
Does anyone know what this might be? Could it be the pump, even though it is brand new? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

To me it sounds like the water reservoir isnt properly seated. Open the back and push the reservoir in firmly. Turn the machine on and see if water comes out now.

oh thank you so much!!! I feel kinda stupid now :o(
I pulled the reservoir off, then put it back with a nice firm push and yaayyyy!!!
Still noisy but water is coming out and I guess there has to be a certain amount of noise from it....
Off to make my first cup ;O)
