    Kenwood ES630

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I searched this page for the Kenwood but came up with nothing -- am I the only snob to own a Kenwood ?

Ive had it about 5 years and am very happy with it - at the time it was rated the best by Choice magazine which is why I bought it and had to search for it... but since then Kenwood seem to have stopped with the range. of coffee machines?

Anyone have any notes to compare?

And in doing so pipped the Nespresso at the post.

I think Delonghi (?) bought them out then discontinued the Kenwood. I also think Greg Pullman had one, and if so, may have some notes to compare.

You may have a collectors item on your hands!

May have to wait a little while yet... I had a Kenwood Stereo (3 in one ) about 35 years ago and it is still not a collectors item..

As to choice... Well they sometimes fluke it and some comments / feedback is worthy... In particular stuff reviewed years ago... Today... Not worth the paper they print on. Well, in the coffee area at least.

I wouldnt be counting on it. They are still for sale in the UK (newer version I guess) and were available in Australia as late as 2006.
Other models of Kenwood coffe machines can still be bought in Oz. Try googling it.

    Re: Kenwood ES630

Sort of... it was a 530 if I recall but looked fairly different to the 630. I bought one for my inlaws back in 2001 (before they were my inlaws, I guess it could have looked like a sweetener so theyd let themselves become my inlaws! ;D if so it worked... ;)), I was fairly impressed at that stage so bought myself one the same from eBay but by the time it arrived Id learnt a fair bit more and decided it was worth spending the extra to get the Napoletana. So mine never saw the light of day, it was relisted and sold at a very slim profit (about $3 if I recall!)

The inlaws one is still going. Looking at it now the good thing about it is that it uses unpressurised ridgeless 58mm baskets! Quite a feat these days; the crema enhancer is some patented thingo you stick below the filter basket but is easily removed.

So dont have an awful lot in the way of notes as their machine may be quite different to yours functionally. I would say that the basic rules that apply to any espresso machine though would apply fairly equally to that one.

    Greg
