Just filed away outer screen on sunbeam EM3600 pressurised screen

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just filed away outer screen on my sunbeam 3600. *About to go and get some more beans for my sunbeam EMO 480 (just aquired from my frequent flyer points). * Does any pros here know roughly what grind setting , I only had some pre ground coffee so I put it through grinder on ten and it was way too fine. *No water was passing through whatsoever, I was waiting for the seal to let go.

Some where between 0 and 25... Truly... Every machine is different.

But start rough and work down and finer..

Say 20 / 22 to start with... Could be any thing between there and 10 :)

Got it running sweet about 15, went a little bit finer but seems to be over extracting. Can someone correct me if Im wrong but am I looking for 26 seconds for 30 mls( does this include the crema head or the actual black liquid) There is hope for this cheapo machine yet. I am only using the double basket

I filed the single shot screen first and filed too much away and blew the screen in two when pulling a shot I had a laugh

    Never re-grind coffee.
You can bugger up your grinder.

The instruction book for the 0480 should have told you what setting to use as a "starting point"; 13 from memory.

My impatience gets the better of me sometimes, I ended up settling on 15. I was under the impression these grinders dont grind fine enough but I have plenty of room up my sleave at this stage.

As far as coffee machine is concerned I do not see it lasting that long as it is really working pulling those long shots, although I could be wrong. It would give me an excuse to get on the coffee train and buy a used commercial machine.

Machine is still going strong and using freshly roasted beans pulling some excellent shots for the money.
