    Horizon model VE-C0088 repairs.

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
My short question without much preamble is: Does anybody know the importer/distributor or service agent for an Horizon VE-C0088 Esspresso & Cappuccino machine?

    The preamble:
I bought the above machine brand new from an Op Shop. I followed the "First time" instructions on the peel off sticker on the side of the machine, pressing the on/off button & then immediately pressing the coffee/water button to pump water from the reservoir. The pump starts & air bubbles issue from the shorter tube in the reservoir but the water level does not drop.

The sticker also says not to operate the machine without water as this can damage the pump. This is probably why it was in the Op Shop.

    Supplementary questions:

Can the pump be economically repaired?
Who can you suggest to do the work?

    Many thanks in anticipation.

Could have been any one of a number of reasons..

Item brought in from OS when some one moved. Years later it gets donated to the local OP shop as never used or was faulty to start with.

    Put it down to experience....

Very rare that one gets a bargain with these sorts of things and an Automatic should be viewed with care.

Depending on how much you paid for it you might be willing to let it keep pumping to see if you get more happening than just air coming out of the shorter tube.
That ones usually a return tube.

Remember it was probably dry as a bone.

People with brand new Sunbeam 6910s have the same sort of complaint, that it makes a lot of noise first time and nothing happens. The answer is to persist for a while longer.

Your dollars; only you know what youre risking to follow my suggestion.
