I think you might mean the BES860, itís the only Breville model with a built-in grinder. There have been reports that the grinder needs a slight modification to grind fine enough for espresso, other than that the reports seem ok. Best bet is to use the search function above to find previous threads on the same topic.

One con would be it is not in this price range. I think rrp is around $700 - $800, almost Lelit combi price range.

I think they can be had for considerably less than that. Personally Id rather a 5 year old Lelit than a brand new 860.

Re: Breville 820 with built in grinder

I have been happy with the BES860 that I have had for about 3 years.

I worked out how to mod the grinder to get a great brew.
    See my method at:

It is in the stores for $700. With some arm twisting you will get it cheaper and you donít have to buy a grinder.
This machine has a PID for temp control. It is a semi automatic. Many things can be programmed but easily changed.

Although it is working well, I have caught a slight case of Upgradus Sponsoritis and I am thinking of getting the new Breville Dual Boiler machine that will be on the market in July and a Breville smart grinder. I will then pass my 860 to a friend.

Breville staff tell me that the BES860 is made in the same factory as the new Dual Boiler machine.

I had electronic problems with a BES820 that I bought for a friend. It is built in a different factory.
