Quaha boiler element - advice please

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
2 photos from either side of my Quaha Junior boiler element plus one of the body.

Lately it's been tripping the circuit breaker on turn on.

If I had to guess the ratty side looks like there has been shorting in a couple of spots from a cooked part of the element. Complementary inside of boiler shot I'm guessing also showing results of arcing.

Would appreciate somebody more knowledgeable than me with these elements to comment/confirm if possible.

Is there an easy way to check? I'm guessing a multimeter probe on one of the connectors and the other end on the "burnt" part and see if there is continuity?

The joys of buying 2nd hand.

    Many thanks in advance.
