Welcome to coffeeSnobs,
One thermostat is for brewing temperature while the other is for steam temp,
When do you think it is overheating? when on brew or when switched to steam.

I've had my Breville for a long time. Lately I've noticed that the cup warmer is getting very hot. What I fear is that some thermostat is broken and that if I accidentally leave it powered on it will do something bad like catch fire.
Inside I can see two thermostats on top of the Thermobloc.
When power is applied the red power light and the orange light come on. After a while the orange light goes out which tells me that at least one thermostat is working. When I select steam or brew on the control knob the orange light comes back on for the duration of the brew or steam.
Does anyone know what the two thermostats do?
Am I worrying needlessly? Perhaps I just forget how hot it can get.
It still makes good coffee!
