Gaggia Baby Dose + Iberital Challenge - is that ok

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi all...

    First time poster, here.

Im one of these people that wakes up every now and again and decides theyre going to go boots and all into a project, mainly relating to something theyre passionate about. The other morning, coffee won.

So, yesterday I sourced (what I thought was) a bargain for a brand spanking new Red Gaggia Baby Dose for a few bucks over $300 and today, I went down to the Coffee Company in Balaclava and picked up a Iberital Challenge grinder, knock bin, tamper and a tamper mat. Given Im a novice, I wanted to start off with (what I think are) the basics and improve my craft.

Now I need your advice. Did I buy the right ginder for machine and vice versa? Id hate to think Ive gone and blown $$$ on cr*p.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Welcome Paulie75

The Iberital challenge is a great grinder a good little workhorse
and should be a good match for the Gaggia

Take a look at the grinder review section and you will see some owner reviews about the challenge grinder

P.S I have used my challenge for my HX machine with great results

    congrats paul on your purchase.
everything is relative in life, and especially in coffee fanaticism.

your gaggia will be capable of great shots with some work on your part. you may only struggle with producing multiple back to back drinks if milk is involved. i think you have a 3-way which means that you can remove your portafilter straight after pulling a shot. so thats a nice bonus.

i have the same grinder and i think for the money its a great grinder. it is noisy and slow but i love the worm gear drive so you can make the teeniest adjustments as your beans age and just to get your grind spot on the money.

have a squiz round these parts for tips on getting the most from your machine and youll be flying, or just high from trying
