Help with old Nova Espress Stovetop

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Dear Coffee Enthusiasts,

    * * I am not terribly knowledgeable about espresso, but I recently found my late grandmothers Nova Espress 2 cup stovetop brewer. *When I try using it, it only drips out of one side until it is heated enough to start spitting. *I checked the lines and they are both clear and dont have any blockage, but I cant seem to brew a decent cup. *Anyway, Im posting some pictures and I hope somebody can maybe explain how to use it and/or tell me about anything else that may have gone wrong with it. *

    Thanks for your time,

    -Drew

    Welcome Drew,

With that kind of system where the espresso is forced up a tube, air pressure will keep the espresso horizontal so if the lines are clear the only alternative in my view is that something isnt level. This could be the hotplate on which its sitting or something in the tube / spout assembly. Try tilting it at a bit of an angle in one direction to see if it fixes it - if so youll be on the right track to finding the problem.

    Good luck!

Now that you mention it, the two nozzles are a little different in height. Gonna try to bend it slightly and see if that helps. Thanks,
