Please do. Even if it is only where to find info.

I am hoping to upgrade to around the $3K range in a year or two and like to window shop in the meantime.

Current RRP on 06/07 landed stock is $6.7k. What the new stock will sell for is no less than that and possibly quite a bit more....

Oh well, looked too good to be true compared to other 3K machines and even more so once the details showed up.

Dont think Ill be stretching it that far in the time frame...but one day...maybe.

    Absolutely John,

I am looking forward to a shoot off against the Faema as well. Now its all souped up, we are getting some brilliant shots!

Are you going to write a short review Chris? Since all other machines that come to Australia have their differences with their US counterparts, I wouldnt expect the GS3 to be any different.

    Re: New kid in town!

A question I put to Luca when the SM was discussed is how suitable is such a machine to anyone but a highly experienced and knowledgeable home barissta. It sounds like you need to know what you are doing as it allows many different adjustments to customise your shots.

Im sure I wasnt the only one who suffered an attack of upgradeitis from it but if I purchased one, how long would it take to adjust to the extra variables. Im sure its well out of my league - Im still struggling to get the best grind-dose-distribute-tamp let alone having to dial in the espresso machine as well. Sounds daunting to me.

Whats the instruction manual like Chris?

I reckon that youd find that because it is such a tightly tuned machine, it would be easier to use than some prosumers out there, in that it minimises some of the variables of other machines.
I need one to prove that though :-X

Thanks Dan - yeah thats pretty much what Luca said. I wouldnt mind finding out for myself too but I wondered if tuning is a constant requirement.

Happy to put up my hand for voluntary UAT Chris.

Thats what Id love. Mind you, I should spend some money on training with my existing equipment before I splash out on anything new (bar the exciting new grinder making its way to my home shortly of course :P).

    Re: New kid in town!

To all of those generous CSers who have martyred themselves with offers of a prolonged in home evaluation, I regret that I have already arranged for that to happen- at my place *8-) :P

I am *hoping* that we will have a demo machine on our bench within a month...LM wheels turn very slowly....

    Manuals- we shall see ::)

    Demo in Sydney- perhaps *:-?
