    La Marzocco Value?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I have a linea 2av circa 2003. It has been in storage for the last 3 years. Returning to aus from uk shortly, and wondering if its worth bringing it back with a view to installing in house (dont have one of those though).
    Is that just overkill?
Or would it be better to sell it and buy a consumer high end single group machine?(I have a rancillio lucy in aus, but would like something better).
Any ideas how much the 2av is worth in aus? It probably needs a little work but had light use, and the internals all look good.
    Thanks!

well, itll be worth more than $3000 ;)

move the post to the high end forum imo! main issue i think is preparing it properly for shipping, and possibly having Customs stick a premium on it when it lands.

if it is just sent as personal effects with the rest of your stuff there should be no customs issues. Unless of course the customs inspecotr is a CSnob....

I would be building a very strong crate with steel braces and bolting it to the floor of the crate.

i have moved a lot, on the whole relocations people do their best, but they once squashed (write-off) a motorbike of mine on one move.....
I am assuming someone else will be paying the relocation costs :)

Update: Have the machine in the garden shed. Can someone give me a ballpark on its value? I have found out that as it has the group heads bolted to the boilers and not welded, it is less desirable? Its pretty clean as you can see.

    Re: La Marzocco Value?

It depends on the money that is required to get it to 100% working condition ( This could run into 1K + for parts and if not working on it yourself + labour)

It also depends on what a buyer is willing to pay

After 3 or 4 years storage I would guess that most flexible seals would have dried up or perished

One on evilbay sold 2 months ago for just under $3000
But as with all these things its dependant on the condition and what someone is willing to pay
