Vintage Brasilia ...but which model ...and what now?!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi all,

Ive recently found and bought this old 3-group Brasilia machine. Found it in a shed behind an Italian bakery in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was covered in tomato sauce and had been forgotten for six years. Originally it used to be the pride and joy of a coffee shop in Milan, and since I now live at lake Como close to Milan I thought it was about time to bring it home and restore it to its original splendor. Im pretty sure its about 20+ years old, nut other than that I have no info. Can you maybe help identifying it? Is it a Portofino?

Since its now back with me in Italy there should be a lot of opportunities for professional help, but before getting started on the restoration I would like some advice as to how I should begin. I have not had it plugged in yet since the power cord is broken. I think first step should be calling an electrician...

By looking at the pictures can you guys maybe give me a few impressions? Did I buy a half dead horse or an Italian stallion..?

    I have attached a few pics - incl. how/where I found it.

    Cheers,

    Kasper

PS: Will update with pictures and more info along the way.

Ohh... one more question. Is it possible to find handbooks and electric schematics for the machine? I contacted Brasilia in Italy and they swear they dont know anything about this particular model - however, I think the lady who answered my questions didnt know what she was talking about.

Can anyone confirm that it is a Portofino? If so, whats the general take on this model?

    Thanks,

    Kasper

PS: Adding some more closeup pics.

    Brasilia Portofino Restoration Project

Thanks to Brasilia USA I have now confirmed that its a Portofino, so this thread have been renamed. Hope this is ok to do?

Next week it will get plugged in (by an electrician), which should give me some more insights to its condition. However, before I do this I would like to hear if there is anything I have to look out for first?

I have found some electrical schematics for the Portofino model, and also a users manual, but Im wondering if there might be differences on the Portofino models, or should the electric schematics match all the Portofino models?

Regarding the look of the machine, I was considering having the sides polished to its underlying crome (if that it is, what it is) and have the brass front and back polished up completely. On the picture below you can se the underlying metal of the sides of the machine. Are there any other machines that have brass and crome together - it might be nice to see pictures of this...

Will post updates of the restoration progress, if CS finds this as interesting as I do.
