Boiler leaking around fitting, who to fix it?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi All,

Just after some advice on who i should take the boiler from my 2group BFC to to fix it. Its leaking around one of the fittings (lower boiler level sight glass pipe).

Let me clarify, the pipe itself is not leaking, it is leaking between the boiler and the fitting itself where i presume the fitting is ?silver soldered? to the boiler?

Is this a job for a plumber?

    Thanks in advance...

Sight unseen is it a split fitting or a crack between the pipe and first fitting?

For safety/insurance reasons DLI certified welders or boiler qualified person/companies. In practical terms a good plumber with experience (not every plumber) in silver soldering should get it done for you.

Usually Silver Brazed as opposed to the low heat type Silver Solder, if thats what you meant Mischa... :-?

As Mal mentions high temperature filler with Silver content with Gas as opposed to soldered with an iron. And yes they will be sweated into the boiler as a separate fitting.

There will be the odd exceptions to that if there is a raised section in say the end plate casting and the fittings are threaded into it.

    Take a pic :)
