    LPG gas coffee machines

I have 2 Rancillio s Series 2 group machines, one is gas heated and I am now trying to get a gas kit to fit the second machine. Gas was original equipment in many commercial machines and I know Coffeparts handles most standard parts for Rancillio but who are the main agents for Rancillo commercial machines in Australia ?

LPG has fallen out of favour in Australia for one reason or another but it is still a good way to go for portable applications IMO. I am de crating a 2 group Izzo lever next week fitted with LPG for a portable application.

Rancilio when it was distributed by in part Rio were using some LPG machines but these days the nearest best advice may be NZ where LPG is still done in reasonable numbers.

Lighter and cheaper than hauling a Generator around I reckon.

Interesting point here. I contacted Rancilio Italy re spares they referred me to Coca Cola Amatll who in turn asked if I was a customer of Grinders as they (CCA )only carried spares and serviced Rancilio machines which were sold thru Grinders. Seems a bit strange as at one time when Mocopan ? sold Rancilo the machines were very popular and there are still a large number of them giving good service in Oz. BTW gas is used widly in Europe in cafe coffeee machines and I am surprized gas is not used more here.

Way to go ! LPG for heat. 12 volt deep cycle battery wth inverter for a stable electric power which will not blow your delicate and expensve automatic electronics.

The Gas kits originally fitted to some Rancilio machines were never certified.

Mocopan were the agent for Rancilio during the time the S Models were sold but no longer support this equipment, Grinders never sold S Models so you will have a very hard time finding any part of a gas kit for that machine.

There are now some new gas machines starting to enter the market.

I suggest you find a decent gas fitter to make up a kit for you

    Cheers

Thanks. I agree, I had come to that conclusion after having a good look at the existing gas installation, regulator, ignitor are all standard gas parts, the whole set up easy for any competent gas fitter. Only non Rancilo part is the burner tube which am trying to get from Italy (failing this it is easy to make ) Obviously I would get any work done checked out by a competant gas fitter. BTW who is importing gas machines into Oz
    Thanks
