I tracked the insert down locally , but you just have to DIY cutting.
Then I realised I move my scale out of the way for a flush so I didn’t get it. John what do you do when your rinsing the group head after each shot?

i dont use one, as i have the la marzocco gs3 volumetric, so only used scales the first time to program each buttom, and i have consistent volume each time
Even if i didnt, i still wouldnt bother with the tray to be honest, would just place the scales down for each shot, because as you say, when you are rinsing the group head, or doing flushes, you would want to remove it anyways

Fair point, but eventually, coffee & water can find its way to the electronics. When they do get wet, after drying them, they can be unresponsive for short time. Over time the numbers on the display become brown and the touch pad isn’t as responsive or even stops functioning correctly. I’ve sent back 4 different sets of Acaia Lunar for repairs over a couple years. This was is in a commercial environment with very heavy use though. Volumetrics reduced our usage from every shot to just a couple times a day
Your right, they’d be fine for a long time especially with only domestic use.

I found someone that supplies the insert only. DIY cutting, but can save $$$

Depending on your machine you may not even need an insert. I was able to do it myself without an insert.
