Toddy set-up help
Hi everyone. I recently bought a Toddy and am wondering if someone can help me with the set-up etc. I have a Breville Smart Grinder 820 for grinding my beans.
The questions I have are:
what grind setting/number should I use on my 820?
what is the best bean to water ratio for brewing, I currently use 250g beans to 1 litre water.
what steep time should I use, and do I steep on the bench or put it in the fridge?
what concentrate to water/milk ratios should I use for drinking?
are there any good beans I should try?
I also read somewhere to use filtered water not tap water. Is any bought bottled water suitably filtered, or do I look for something specific?
Thanks for the help, I am largely looking for a point in the right direction so to speak.

Don't know, I don't own a 820. The grind should be a little coarser than filter/plunger.

I use 330-350g to 1500ml. But there is no "best", more coffee the stronger the flavour.

Bench. 8-12 hours. The longer the stronger the bitter. The shorter the weaker but less bitter.
what concentrate to water/milk ratios should I use for drinking?
1:3 for strong 1:5 for weak. But play around with that and find what you like.

Lighter roasts, African are my favourite but I only drink it black. Again play around and see what you like.

Tap water may add unwanted flavour hence filtered. I know some that use still mineral water to add flavour.
